NIFT Kangra Result and Cutoff

Established back in 1986, National Institute of Fashion Technology has served as one of the finest institutes for the talent growth of students. It provides successful placement to several students every year. NIFT Kangra has been established in 2009 and has contributed the same growth to the candidates across the country. It mainly offers Undergraduate courses with specialisation in Fashion Designing and Fashion Technology.

Admission to the Bachelor’s courses in NIFT Kangra is done on the basis of marks obtained in the Creative Ability Test. To appear for the test, a candidate must have passed class 12th degree in 10+2 pattern from a recognised Board or Institute. NIFT cutoff depends on various parameters including the number of candidates appeared, the total number of seats, level of difficulty of each examination and admission record of the previous year.

The cut-off may vary every year depending on the NIFT result. For the candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate course that is Bachelors in the Design programme, the institute conducts Creative Ability Test.

The cut-off mark is announced to the candidates who qualify the NIFT examination. Candidates who secure the highest marks will be provided with the top rank and the one who gets the lowest marks will be allotted lowest rank. The Board will announce the opening and closing ranks. For instance, the closing cutoff for General category students in the year 2018 was 1,269 in the Fashion Communication stream under Bachelors of Design. The closing rank for SC and ST were 5,125 and 6,822 respectively while for OBC, it was 3,048.
