IISER Mohali placements offer unique training programmes along with world-class research so the students can learn to solve complex problems in almost all the disciplines and that what makes IISER Mohali students different from other college students as well as make them a better job candidate.

However, like all the other IISERs, the one at Mohali also does not provide any on-campus placement facilities. Mostly students prefer to enrol themselves for PhD programmes, as it provides an opportunity to visit abroad during summer internships at leading institutions in countries like US, UK, Europe, Australia and India.

This opportunity leads them to be getting placed in various sectors through those universities also they eventually get placed in top universities.

Some students also opt for the MBA degree and a few even sit for the UPSC examinations. In 2012, very few companies that recruited IISER Mohali students on-campus for placements, include Accenture, Ernst & Young, Sharekhan, Kotak Mutual Fund, Bajaj Allianz, Aircel, IBM, BHEL, Bata, McAfee, Capgemini, Infosys and others.

The maximum package offered was Rs 7.16 lakhs per annum while the average offered was Rs 3.8 lakhs per annum.
