NIT Manipur Admission Process
NIT Manipur is among the best-emerging NITs among the 31 institutes in India. It is known for its programmes in engineering in the postgraduate, undergraduate and doctoral level. For selection, the marks scored in JEE and GATE exams are taken into account.
Without scoring above the minimum qualifying marks, the candidates are not allowed for admission. The seats are allotted according to the JoSAA and CCMT counselling for BTech and M.Tech courses, respectively.
Admission in PhD programmes is solely dependant on the institution. It conducts written tests and interviews to select the students for admission.
NIT Manipur Admission Highlights
- For admission in B.Tech courses, the candidates are selected on the basis of JEE scores followed by JoSAA Counselling.
- For admission in M.Tech courses, the selection is based on the marks scored in GATE followed by CCMT counselling.
- For NIT Manipur PhD admission 2019, the candidates need to appear for Written Test conducted by the college, Personal Interview and Counselling. They also need to appear for GATE or NET.

NIT Manipur Admission Procedure
UG Course
To get admission in B.Tech the candidate must have a minimum of 75% in class 10+2 examination or be in the top 20 percentile at HSC level conducted by any recognized state board. 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ST and PH candidates in the minimum eligibility criteria. The final selection is done on the basis of JEE Main score followed by counselling.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE Main is a 10+2 pass in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). For getting admission in postgraduate M.Tech course, the applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject (B.E/ B.Tech) with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CPI (on 10 point scale). Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/ PH candidates. The final selection is done on the basis of GATE score followed by CCMT counselling.

Doctoral Course
To secure a seat in PhD course the aspirants must have M.E/ M.Tech in relevant disciplines with 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks and B.E/ B.Tech in the concerned disciplines with 7.0 CGPA or 70% marks. The final selection will be done on the basis of GATE/NET score or written test and personal interview conducted by the college.
