National Institute of Technology Sikkim has its own Training and Placement Cell. Being one of the emerging Engineering institutions, the college always tries to achieve 100% placement records every year. The Training and placement cell of NIT Sikkim aims to provide the best placement opportunities for its students.

At first, it sends invitations to companies or organizations along with all the relevant information to those companies who are interested to register themselves on the official portal of NIT Sikkim Placement and fill up the JAF form.

Also, the Interested candidates are required to sign their JAF to appear recruitment process, so that both companies or organizations can view resumes of interested candidates and shortlist students as per the specified criteria and the students can view the companies profile.

At the last step,  the companies visit the campus on prescribed dates to conduct Interview or Tests according to their selection process and after the successful completion of the selection process, companies provided a list of shortlisted candidates and submit that list to the NIT Sikkim Placement office.

NIT Sikkim placement package is generally good. Some of the reputed companies that visited during NIT Sikkim placement the recruitment process include IBM, Microsoft, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Intel, Huawei etc.

NIT Sikkim highest package for B.Tech was RS 22 lakhs per annum and NIT Sikkim average package is 4 lakhs per annum in 2016.
