SMIT Sikkim Campus Facilities
SMIT Sikkim is partially funded by the Government of Sikkim and Manipur. It had its initial campus in Tadong Sikkim but later moved to its permanent campus in Majitar in Sikkim. It is spread over an area of 33 acres overlooking the Himalayan Ranges.
The institute intakes 3,000 students every year. It has 234 academic staffs who help the candidates to have the best learning experience. It has two academic buildings and other residential building within the campus. The campus is fitted with state of the art classrooms and laboratories.
Workshops are offered to provide hands-on training to the students so that they get some industrial exposure. The institute offers a library which provides for some of the greatest learning resources for the students.
It has DELNET facilities which allow the students to log into the greatest libraries of the world to find what you are looking for. There are two libraries for Medical and technical sector. It provides 24 hours of internet service.
Hostel accommodations are available for the outstation students. Hostel blocks are available separately for boys and girls. The hostel rooms have attached toilets and are on a twin sharing basis. A Chief Warden is assigned to the hostels to look after the welfare of the students.
It is provided with basic amenities like cot, mattress, beds, bed linen, bookrack, study table, chair, personal wardrobe, aquaguard facilities etc. the students are provided with a choice whether they want AC rooms or not. Some additional facilities available to the students residing in hostels are:

Student Activities
The students of SMIT are very active in non-academic activities as well. They have clubs and societies to encourage hobbies and interests of the students. Some of their many cultural clubs include the dance club, music club, photography club etc. events and fests are held annually.
