Scholarships

NIT Mizoram Scholarships

NIT Mizoram Scholarships are provided to take away the financial burden from the meritorious yet have weak economic background students. All the scholarship provided by the Institute is under Central Government norms. Apart from that, Nowadays educational loans are very easily available, so students can apply for that also.

Some of the financial aid provided by the Institute are:

Central Sector Scholarship (SC) – SC or schedule caste students whose total family income is less than 4.50 LPA are eligible for the scholarship. The student needs to submit his or her caste certificate during admission. No limitation of marks.

Central Sector Scholarship (ST) – This Scholarship is for ST or schedule tribe students whose total family income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 4.50 lakh per annum. No fixed marks bar for this scholarship scheme.

Minority Scholarship (moma scholarship) – Through this scholarship 30% tuition fees waiver for girls students. For girls from Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist & Parsi categories meritorious students should have not secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination.  Not more than two students from a family are applicable for this scholarship.

This scholarship allocation is done to States or UTs on the basis of population of the minority. The scheme is provided by the state Govt. or UT administration. The candidates total family income from all sources should be more than Rs 2.50 lakh per annum.

Post Matric Scholarship (OBC) – Only OBC students are eligible for the scheme after the announcement of scholarship by their respective State Govt. in the leading newspaper of the state or through their respective websites or other media outlets. But the total family income of the student from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh per annum.

National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation – Applicants must have more than 50% marks at higher secondary or graduation level examination to apply for this school and their family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum.

North Eastern Scholarship – Under this scholarship scheme the stipends and book grants are only applicable to a candidate who is a permanent resident of any of the states in North East. The maximum marks for the grant of stipend should be 75% for General or OBC or MOBC and 60% for SC or ST candidates in any relevant qualifying examination for Diploma, Degree and Postgraduate level courses.

ONGC Scholarship – This scholarship is available only for Electrical Engineering. and Mechanical Engineering., Electronics Communication Engineering Students. The candidate should be the 3rd year branch topper. Also, the scholarship duration is for one year only.
