NIFT Kolkata Scholarships

The financial strategy of National Institute of Fashion Technology is student development. With an endeavour to that, NIFT Kolkata spends considerable sum from NIFT Development Fund every year in order to provide scholarship schemes to the meritorious students.

The number of scholarships is limited so, it is also a great way to invite meritorious students to take admission at the institute. For the same reason, scholarships also make a student a better job candidate.

Since its inception, many leading organisations have come forward from the apparel sector with an aim to encourage NIFT Kolkata students in their academic and creative quest. The companies who have instituted such awards or scholarships namely ITC, HomeShop 18 etc.

NIFT Kolkata currently offers the following scholarship schemes:

Educational Loans – NIFT has tie-ups with the Union Bank of India in order to provide Student Education Loans at a special rate of interest of 11.75% for candidates belonging to SC or Schedule caste and ST or Schedule Tribe category.

Also, all the girl students who are applying at the institute are made available the rate of interest of 11.25%. The students who have cleared the NIFT entrance test can avail this facility from any branch of UBI across the country.

Means cum Merit Financial Assistance Scheme – NIFT Scholarship is like an opportunity for the meritorious students coming from a humble background, a chance to fulfil their dreams to study at NIFT.

Candidates who are applying for the scholarship need to submit their application along with the annual certificate of parental income and have to contact the Student Development Activity Coordinator at the institute campus after admission.

Assistantship Programme – The institute conducts a Student Assistantship Programme on the campus and provides assistance opportunity through that programme. Such assistantships provide an opportunity for part-time employment within the institute.
