IIT Jodhpur Campus Facilities

Academic & Research Facilities

IIT Jodhpur’s permanent campus features modern teaching and research infrastructure. Classrooms and seminar halls are fully air‑conditioned and equipped with high‑speed internet, smart boards, and audio‑visual systems. Departmental laboratories cover fields such as chemical processes, clean energy, biosciences, materials characterisation, and robotics, all supported by a central Centre for Advanced Scientific Equipment.

  • Hostel: To maintain a consistent temperature throughout the year, the hostel building includes cutting-edge insulation. Each student is given a single room with air conditioning that is only partially equipped. For greater connectivity, the hostel has a LAN connection and WiFi available around the clock. Each floor has a hot water geyser, a water cooler, and cleaning and laundry services. There is an elevator in each hostel building for your convenience. Carom, table tennis, indoor football, snooker, chess, and other games and amenities are available.
  • Food: Up to 1000 kids can be served at once in a 3-story structure with an elevator that is specifically designated for dining. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served separately in the air-conditioned building. Additionally, there is a separate food court with a wide selection of a la carte dishes.
  • Health: On-campus, there is an ISO-certified health center that offers ambulance and OPD services. A medical board made up of practitioners from Government Medical College and AIIMS is in place at the health center.
  • Sports: The grounds for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, and badminton are among the facilities available for sports. There are national-level coaches for each sport who prepare students for intra- and inter-college sporting events. There are also well-equipped gyms on the site.
  • Transportation: The college provides a daily bus service to and from the IIT Jodhpur campus and Jodhpur city for students.

Library & IT Infrastructure

The central library houses an extensive collection of print and digital resources, including subscription journals and e‑books, along with dedicated silent and group‑study zones. A separate Computer Centre offers 24×7 access to high‑performance servers and desktop workstations, and campus‑wide Wi‑Fi ensures seamless connectivity for academic and collaborative work.

Residential & Dining Facilities

The fully residential campus provides accommodation for students, scholars, and faculty across multiple hostels. Each room comes furnished with a bed, study table, chair, and wardrobe. Shared amenities include a gymnasium, games room, TV lounge, music room, and reading room. A central dining hall, with seating for around 1,000 per service, offers varied menus—including North Indian, South Indian, and continental—in a hygienic, air‑conditioned environment.

Health & Sports Facilities

An on‑campus Primary Health Centre delivers routine medical care, emergency services, and regular health checkups. The Sports Complex comprises an indoor stadium with badminton, table‑tennis, squash courts, and a gym, as well as outdoor fields and courts for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, and athletics tracks—supporting both recreational play and competitive events.

Student Life & Recreation

Campus life is enriched by a Community Centre and auditorium for cultural events, guest lectures, and club activities. An Innovation & Incubation Hub fosters entrepreneurship with mentorship, prototyping labs, and startup support. Essential services—including an ATM, bank branch, post office, stationery shop, and multiple cafeterias—are conveniently located across the campus.

Sustainability & Transport

Designed to high green‑building standards, campus buildings employ passive‑architecture features and insulated facades, complemented by solar PV installations. An internal shuttle service connects academic and residential zones, while CCTV‑monitored roads, gated entry points, and round‑the‑clock security ensure a safe campus environment.
