HBTU Campus Facilities

HBTU address is HBTU East Campus, Nawabganj, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh 208002. HBTU Campus can be divided into two parts- the east campus and the west campus. The institute is located in the northern part of the city, near the Kanpur Zoo as well as less than five kilometres away from the Ganga barrage.

The east campus is spread over 77 acres of land, while the west campus is spread over 271 acres, which is roughly 3 km apart from the east campus.

East campus is mainly the academic block and it shares a border with Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology’s premises.

The academic block comprises of the administrative offices, and departments of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology (four out of five branches), Biochemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities along with the five buildings which house the department of Computer Science & IT, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Leather Technology Central Library, Auditorium, Cafeteria, GIIEC Building, Parking Lot etc.

There are also Oil Technologist’s Association of India’s (OTAI) headquarters, Council of Leather Exports’ (CLE), central regional office, Paint and Coating Technologist’s Association (PACT) headquarters, and Institution of Engineers (India)’s Kanpur Local Centre and Garden of Bliss.

The campus offers all kinds of modern facilities like Guest House, Medical Centre

Electronics Department, Central Bank of India (CBI) branch and its ATM, Central Workshop Foundry Shop, Welding Shop, Machine Shop, Blacksmithy Shop, Carpentry & Fitting Shop, separate hostel for boys and girls, Lake View Old (Home like Hostel), and Lake View New.

In addition to that, it also offers sports facilities such as Lawn Tennis Court, Football & Cricket ground and an old Gymnasium.

The West campus is mainly a residential block with three boys hostels namely WCH-1, WCH-2, and WCH-3, DBRA hostels and New.

HBTU hostels have a Gymnasium, a Community centre, residential quarters for faculty members, and other staff in this campus area. Additionally, there is a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM that provides banking facilities to HBTU faculty members and students.

Also, it offers sports facilities like playgrounds for cricket, basketball and volleyball. The institute has various student-driven clubs including GIIEC – Entrepreneurship Cell, Qfrat – Quizzing Club, 

Debnexus – Debating Club, Harcourtian Words – Poetry and Writing Club, HBTU Kalakriti – Painting and Sketching Club, Harcourtians F.C. – Football Club, Nukkad Team – Dramatics Society, Aeroclub HBTU – Aerospace Club, Robo Club HBTU – Robotics Club and Decoders – Coding Club.
