CUSAT Kochi course admissions to the B.Tech program is facilitated through the university’s Common Admission Test (CAT).

CUSAT Kochi also welcomes applications for B.Tech Lateral Entry, offering admission directly into the second year of the program.

CUSAT B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Successful completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, achieving a minimum aggregate of 60%.
• Possession of a three-year Diploma in the relevant field from a recognised university or institute, applicable for B.Tech Lateral Entry.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for B.Tech Selection

• Candidates’ selection is determined by their scores in the university-conducted CAT test. Seat allocation relies on factors such as merit list ranking, seat availability, and other considerations.
• For B.Tech Lateral Entry candidates, selection hinges on performance in the university-administered Lateral Entrance Test (LET). The university determines remedial courses based on the candidates’ LET rank.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for M.Tech Selection

Candidates will be selected based on their GATE scores. In the event of a shortage of candidates with valid GATE scores, other candidates may be considered for admission upon qualifying the Departmental Admission Test (DAT) in the relevant subjects.

CUSAT Kochi presents a five-year integrated M.Sc program in Photonics, Science, and Computer Science, administered by three distinct departments. Upon successful program completion, students are awarded both B.Sc and M.Sc degrees. CUSAT Kochi course admissions to the program is conducted through the Common Admission Test (CAT) administered by the university.

CUSAT Integrated M.Sc Eligibility Criteria 

• For Integrated M.Sc in Photonics:

  • Completion of 10+2 education awarded by the State of Kerala.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as optional subjects.
  • Minimum aggregate of 50%.
  • SEBC candidates from Kerala State eligible for 5% relaxation in minimum required marks.

• For M.Sc in Computer Science:

  • Minimum of 75% marks at the +2 level of education.
  • Science subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for Integrated M.Sc Selection

• CUSAT Kochi provides a full-time LLB program with a duration of three years.
• The program is housed within the Department of School of Legal Studies.
• It has a total intake of 60 students.

CUSAT LLB Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates applying for CUSAT Kochi course admissions to the LLB program must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a university recognised by CUSAT, with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
• Note: State Government/Central Government permanent employees are required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer to enroll in the LLB program. Additionally, candidates must be employed within a 30 km radius of the Thrikkakara Campus of CUSAT.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for LLB Selection

CUSAT Kochi course admissions to the LLB program relies on the rank attained in the CAT test administered by CUSAT. Following qualification in the CAT test, candidates are required to participate in a group discussion and interview.

The CAT test for the LLB program comprises 150 objective-type questions designed to assess general knowledge, aptitude, logic, and reasoning skills. These questions are categorised into different sections:

CUSAT M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in the M.Sc. programs must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for M.Sc Selection

Candidates must qualify in the CAT test administered by the university to gain admission to any of the M.Sc. programs.

CUSAT Kochi presents a two-year MA program in three disciplines: Applied Economics, Hindi Language & Literature, and Translation in German/Russian. CUSAT Kochi course admissions to these programs are facilitated through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the university.

CUSAT MA Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates seeking admission to the MA programs must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject from a university recognised by CUSAT.
• For MA in Hindi Language and Literature:
  • Candidates should hold a BA/B.Sc. degree with Hindi as one of the subjects and attain a minimum of 45% marks in Hindi.
• For MA in Translation in German/Russian:
  • Candidates should have a BA/B.Sc. degree along with a Diploma in the respective language.
• For MA in Applied Economics:
  • Candidates must hold a BA Economics degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a B.Com., BBA, or BBM degree with Economics as one of the subjects and 60% marks in aggregate are eligible.
  • Candidates with a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Statistics and 65% marks are also eligible.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for MA Selection

Candidates for the MA program at CUSAT will be selected based on the scores achieved in the CAT exam administered by the university.

CUSAT Kochi provides an M.F.Sc program in Food Safety and Trade within the School of Industrial Fisheries department, spanning a duration of two years. CUSAT Kochi course admissions to this program is facilitated through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the university.

CUSAT M.F.Sc Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in this program must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries, Food Technology, Food Science, Food Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Zoology with a minimum of 55% marks. Additionally, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries, Food Technology, or Food Science are also eligible to apply for admission to the M.F.Sc program.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for M.F.Sc Selection

Candidates must successfully pass the CAT test administered by the university in order to be eligible for admission to the M.F.Sc. program.

CUSAT Kochi offers two post-graduate programs in Law:

1. 1-year LLM program
2. Two-Year LLM Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) program (Duration of the course is subject to syndicate approval)

Admissions to both programs are conducted through the Common Admission Test (CAT), followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by the university.

Selection for all LLM programs is determined by the candidate’s qualifying score in the CAT test administered by the university, followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Interview. The test comprises objective-type questions designed to assess the candidate’s aptitude. It consists of two parts:

Part 1

Proficiency in English and General Knowledge.

Analytical and reasoning capability and aptitude to do research.

Part 2

Compulsory papers in Law as prescribed by the Bar Council of India.

The rank is decided based on the following weightage:

 Part 1 of CAT – 35% weightage

Part 2 of CAT – 35% weightage

GD – 15% weightage

Interview – 15% weightage

CUSAT Kochi offers an MCA program, spanning a duration of three years, available to both regular and sponsored candidates. Additionally, the university accepts admissions for the MCA Lateral Entry program, which entails admission to the third semester.

CUSAT MCA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for admission to the MCA program must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Mathematics as one of the subjects and a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, excluding language and humanities subjects.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, or Technology, with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, excluding language and humanities subjects.

The maximum age limit for candidates applying to the MCA programs is 40 years as of 1st August of the admission year.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for MCA Selection

CUSAT Kochi provides two types of MBA programs: Full-Time and Part-Time, with durations of two years and three years, respectively. The part-time evening professional MBA program offers specialisations in International Business and Travel and Tourism.

Admission to these programs is based on scores obtained in management entrance tests such as KMAT of Kerala, C-MAT of AICTE, or CAT of IIMs, followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round conducted by the university.

CUSAT MBA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for MBA Selection

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in the CAT/KMAT/C-MAT examination. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to participate in a group discussion round, and those who qualify will proceed to a personal interview. Final selection will be based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance test, as well as the group discussion and personal interview rounds.

CUSAT Kochi offers an M.Phil program in the fields of Hindi, Mathematics, and Chemistry, each spanning a duration of one year.

CUSAT M.Phil Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in the M.Phil. programs must possess a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject.

Additionally, if the candidate is currently employed, they are required to submit an experience certificate and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

CUSAT Kochi Admission Criteria for M.Phil Selection

Interested candidates must pass the DAT test administered by the university. Additionally, CUSAT will conduct an interview for DAT-qualified candidates to assess their eligibility for the M.Phil. programs.

CUSAT Kochi provides both Full-Time and Part-Time Ph.D. research programs for pursuing a Ph.D. degree. The availability of research areas and vacancies must be confirmed through the proposed Supervising Guides. The minimum and maximum duration to complete the program is 2 years and 6 years, respectively.

CUSAT Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking registration in the Ph.D. program must possess a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% marks from a university recognised by CUSAT.

The following categories are also eligible to apply for the Ph.D. programs:

• Candidates with National/State Research Fellowship with valid scores and assured financial support.
• Teachers employed in universities or aided colleges in Kerala.
• Teachers working in Quasi-Government/Government Institutions recognised by CUSAT.
• Scientists employed in National Level Research Laboratories with a minimum of five years of continuous service.
• Foreign Nationals sponsored by the Government of India under a scholarship scheme.
