Saveetha Engineering College Admission Process
Saveetha Engineering College is one of the best co-educational institutions in South India, especially in Chennai. It was founded by the Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust, which is a registered charitable society. The college was established in 2001.
Admission to the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses at Saveetha Engineering College is done on the basis of Entrance Examination followed by counselling process as per Anna University norms.
SEC Chennai Admission Highlights
- For admission in Undergraduate level courses is conducted through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission or TNEA process followed by Tamil Nadu Common Admission or TANCA counselling process. All applicants need to pass the Higher Secondary Examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects of study under Part-III examination from any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of the Anna University of Technology Chennai to apply for the course.
- For Undergraduate level, Lateral entry courses admission is conducted as per Anna University norms. All applicants having a diploma in Engineering or Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent can apply for admission to the third semester of B.E. or B.Tech. but only in the corresponding branch to the of study.
- For Postgraduate level, M.E courses admission is done based on TANCET or CET or GATE entrance examination conducted by the Anna University & Consortium of Self Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamilnadu. All applicants Pass in all the subjects in any recognised Bachelor’s Degree in any equivalent field of study and must have a minimum of 50 % for general category candidates and 45 % for reserved category candidates in the qualifying degree examination under AICTE norms are eligible for admission.
- For Doctoral level PhD, courses admission is done through University-based written Test followed by an interview. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in an equivalent field of study for which the candidate is applying. Additionally, UGC NET or CSIR NET or SLET or JRF Teaching fellowship holders are also eligible to apply.
