NIT Delhi Campus Facilities
A 51-acre parcel of land on NH-1 in the Narela district of New Delhi has been earmarked for the establishment of NIT Delhi's permanent campus. The construction of this permanent campus is already underway. Initially, in 2010, NIT Warangal served as the academic base for NIT Delhi. Later, in June 2012, it shifted to a temporary facility located in Dwarka, New Delhi. Presently, NIT Delhi conducts its operations at the IAMR Campus in Narela.
Following are a few of the many facilities available at the old as well as the NIT Delhi new campus.
- Library: The library at NIT Delhi keeps a rich collection of 14026 printed books including textbooks and reference books with around 2500 titles, more than 6000 e-journals and 4450 books in its book bank. The library adopts the software of Web-based Libsys 7 to automate most of the activities and services in the library.
- Hostel: Hostels for boys are located within the main NIT Delhi campus in Narela, while the hostels for girls are at Rohini in Delhi. The NIT Delhi hostel boarding facility has been increased to around 150 students and provision of adequate transport facilities has also been introduced to enable steady commutation among students staying at the YWCA Girls Hostel, Rohini and even day scholars.
- Sports Complex: The NIT Delhi campus area also consists of a Badminton Court, Basketball Court, Football Ground, Volleyball Court, Kabaddi Court, Table Tennis room as well as a Cricket Cemented pitch with Nets.
- Location: The NIT Delhi address is Sector A-7, Institutional Area, near Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital, Narela, Delhi.
