Mumbai University Scholarship

Mumbai University is one of the oldest and most prosperous universities in the country. It offers different programmes covering vast subjects to choose from. The university has 749 colleges under it, which provide a great platform for the candidates to study. With its own placement cell, the university also looks after the success of the candidates.

Apart from offering a great platform to the candidate, it also provides a scholarship programme for financially unstable students. The programme covers a provision of up to Rs. 10 lakhs for a year, which is mainly offered to the candidates whose yearly income is below Rs. 1 lakh. The amount of scholarship is distributed through the various head of the departments of the university.

For scholarship of the candidates representing Backward Classes, Financial assistance, the amount is provided according to the course. The candidates can get the application form from the head of the departments of the university, which is available at the time of admission. There are mainly four categories of students covered under the scheme:

• Students who stay in hostels and pursue self-supporting courses will get a maximum of Rs. 9,000 and the ones who are not residing in hostels get Rs. 7,000 maximum.
• Students in Regular courses staying in hostel get a maximum of Rs. 4,000 while students who don’t stay in hostels may get Rs. 2,000 maximum.

Financial assistance is also provided to the students at Mumbai University who are needy. The amount offered is up to Rs. 1 crore, distributed among the head of the departments of the university. This scheme is provided to the candidates whose yearly income of parents is up to Rs. 75,000.

The candidates who are selected for this programme should submit the application form to the Director of Students Welfare through Head of the Department before September 15 of every year.
