BIT Mesra Scholarship

BIT Mesra provides various scholarships to students based on academic and financial need criteria. All scholarships are accessible to students who meet the specified criteria.

To avail BIT Mesra Scholarships, students need to complete the application process after receiving a scholarship notification from BIT Mesra via email.

Below are the scholarships provided by BIT Mesra:

The “BIT G. P. Birla Scholarship” initiative aims to recognise deserving students and ensure that financial constraints do not hinder their pursuit of a BIT degree. The annual scholarship fund is Rs 2.10 crores. The Institute may revise eligibility criteria at its discretion to manage the number of awarded scholarships within this annual amount. Various categories of BIT GP Birla Scholarship/Assistantship are available to students across all campuses:

(A) BIT GP Birla Scholarship: Meritorious students will receive this scholarship based solely on their academic performance in MO 2021, without considering family income.

(B) BIT GP Birla Scholarship for B.Tech. and B.Arch. based on AIR in JEE (Main): Candidates securing specified All India Ranks in JEE (Main) are eligible for this category.

(C) BIT GP Birla Scholarship for M.Tech. based on GATE Percentile: This scholarship is for candidates scoring 90 percentile or higher in GATE and is applicable in the first semester.

(D) BIT GP Birla Scholarship for B.Tech. under Immersive Summer Research Experience (ISRE) at Reputed Foreign Universities: Students selected for the Immersive Summer Research Experience (ISRE) at reputed foreign universities in B.Tech. programs are eligible for this scholarship.

(E) BIT GP Birla Assistantship: Needy meritorious students will receive this scholarship based on merit cum means, considering academic performance in MO 2021 and family income.

(F) BIT GP Birla Assistantship on Compassionate Grounds: A limited number of assistantships may be provided to students on compassionate grounds.

(G) BIT GP Birla Assistantship for Staff Wards: Staff wards studying in various programs at BIT Mesra, including its Off Campuses, will receive BIT GP Birla Assistantship.

Merit scholarships on the basis of JEE Main Rank:

First-semester students enrolled in various branches at BIT Mesra, Ranchi, are eligible for merit scholarships determined by their JEE Main Rank.

Merit-cum-means Scholarship Scheme: 

The scholarship amount awarded to eligible students is contingent on both their performance in the preceding semester and their parents’ total annual income. An income certificate issued by a gazetted officer, not below the level of Circle Officer, is required for parental income verification. The number of scholarships granted in this category will be inversely proportional to the overall enrollment in each program.
