WBJEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the WBJEE exam have been established by the board, and candidates who wish to take the exam must be aware of them. Only a few eligibility criteria are used by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board, and they vary depending on the course. Candidates should only fill out the application form if they meet the entrance exam’s eligibility requirements. WBJEE has established a strict policy for candidate verification. In WBJEE 2025, there will be two papers: paper 1 for mathematics and paper 2 for physics and chemistry combined. There is no limit to how many times you can take the WBJEE exam.

The following eligibility criteria must be checked by candidates:-

  • The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2025. There is no upper age limit. However, for admission to the degree level Marine Engineering Course the upper age limit is 25 Years as on 31.12.2025.
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen from any state in the country.
  • Candidates will be considered West Bengal residents if they have lived in the state for the past ten years or if their parents have a permanent address in West Bengal.

WBJEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admissions

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, along with any one of the following subjects as compulsory subjects, with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical where applicable) in all three subjects:
    • Chemistry
    • Biotechnology
    • Biology
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Application
    • Technical Vocational Subject
  • Candidates must have secured at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PwD) in these three subjects combined.
  • Candidates must have passed English in Class 12 with a minimum of 30% marks.
  • The board of the qualifying examination must be recognized by either the Central Government or the respective State Government.
