The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-controlled centralised test administered by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination board. It is held for admission to a variety of private and public medical and engineering schools in West Bengal.
The scheduled date for the WBJEE Exam 2024 is April 28, 2024. This announcement was made by the WBJEEB and is available on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. The exam will be divided into two slots: the Morning Slot will cover Paper 1, focusing on Mathematics, while the Evening Slot will cover Physics and Chemistry.
The WBJEEB will close the correction window for WBJEE 2024 today, February 9, 2024. Candidates who wish to make changes to their application forms can do so through the official website of WBJEE at wbjee.nic.in. The correction window has been open since February 7, 2024.
WBJEE 2024 will be conducted offline at various centers throughout West Bengal. Candidates are required to bring their WBJEE admit card 2024 along with other necessary documents on the day of the examination.
In 1962, the West Bengal government established the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB). The board has been designated as a Statutory Body, with the authority to conduct frequent, combined, competitive entrance examinations for admission to undergraduate professional and vocational courses at any university in Bengal. It has always been focused on improving transparency through the use of cutting-edge technology. It is a prestigious exam, with approximately 300,000 candidates taking it each year, and the number is growing. WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the WBJEE exam have been established by the board, and candidates who wish to take the exam must be aware of them. Only a few eligibility criteria are used by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board, and they vary depending on the course. Candidates should only fill out the application form if they meet the entrance exam’s eligibility requirements. WBJEE has established a strict policy for candidate verification. In WBJEE 2024, there will be two papers: paper 1 for mathematics and paper 2 for physics and chemistry combined. There is no limit to how many times you can take the WBJEE exam.
The following eligibility criteria must be checked by candidates:-
- The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2024. There is no upper age limit. However, for admission to the degree level Marine Engineering Course the upper age limit is 25 Years as on 31.12.2024.
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen from any state in the country.
- Candidates will be considered West Bengal residents if they have lived in the state for the past ten years or if their parents have a permanent address in West Bengal.
WBJEE 2024 Registration
Before filling out the application form, candidates must carefully read the instructions on the official website. Once the application is submitted, it is considered final and treated as if the candidate has agreed to all of the board’s terms and conditions. If any information is found to be unfit according to the instructions, the conducting authority has the right to reject the application.
This entrance examination does not have a printed application form. Candidates must use the official website to fill out the original application form. On the official website of WBJEEB, candidates can apply online and pay using Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. The registration fee for WBJEE varies depending on the candidate’s category.
The applicable fees for each category are as follows:
- General Male Candidate: Rs. 500
- General Female Candidate and Male Candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/TFW: Rs. 400
- All Female Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/TFW and Third Gender Candidates: Rs. 300
Payment of the WBJEE registration fee can be made via net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI, or QR code scan.
The application form will be available starting December 28th, 2023, and must be submitted by February 5th, 2024. Candidates should be cautious when filling out the application form’s details, as they will no longer be able to edit or modify them once the correction window has closed.
