UPSC ESE 2019 Registration

Those who are planning to appear for the 2019 IES examination, for them there are a couple of important details pertaining to the registration process that needs to be shared. In order to register or apply for the exam, there is a couple of minimum criterion that needs to be fulfilled. Here is a brief overview of them

General Criterion

Here is some of the general criterion that students need to be aware of

  • He/she needs to be a citizen of India, Bhutan, Nepal, Tibetan refugee who is migrated to India before January 01, 1962 for permanent residency.
  • Any person migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, or Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam and having the necessary educational qualification and intention to reside in India permanently can also apply.
  • There are standard physical requirements which the candidates must satisfy.
  • At any stage, a candidate can be disqualified for appearing the further rounds
  • The minimum and maximum age limits are 21 years and 30 years respectively. This is for general candidates. In case of SC/ST, OBC and other categories, there are certain relaxations.
  • A candidate must be engineering graduate from any University that has been recognized by the Central Government. Final year students can also apply.

Step 1.

The Registration Process

Those who are planning to apply for the IES entrance exam in 2019, need to go through the following steps for registration. The registration process completed in two parts namely registration I and registration II.

  • First, they must visit the official website upsconline.nic.in
  • Then they should click on the “IES 2019” button. If you already have an account, you can carry on but if you are a new user then you first need to open an account.
  • Then they need to fill in the ORA or the Online Recruitment Application
  • The details pertaining to registration needs to be entered; like the name of the candidate, parent’s name, correspondence address, date of birth, email address, academic qualification, contact number, and others. In addition, you have to furnish all the details of the examinations passed.
  • It is very important to provide a functional email address as all the future correspondence will be made via email
  • Then one needs to click on the “Submit” button
  • The candidate will be redirected to the payment section

Payment of Fees

After feeling in all the details, the applicant needs to pay the application fee, which is the step II of registration. For General and OBC candidates, the registration fees have been set as Rs 200 and for SC/ST and women candidates; there are no registration fees at all.

  • There are two payment options “Online” and “Offline”; choose any one of them
  • As far as offline payment is concerned, one needs to down the Pay-in-slip and then remit cash to any State Bank of India branch
  • For online payment, one can use Debit or Credit cards as well as Net Banking

Step 2.

After successfully filling up the above details, the candidate will be redirected to the UPSC Online Form Section, where they need to do the followings

  • Fill in academic and communication details
  • Need to choose 3 examination centers for the Preliminary exam
  • All the information needs to be verified before submission
  • The “Submit” button needs to be clicked to proceed to the next step

Uploading Signature and Photographs

  • Scanned images of signature and passport sized photo needs to be uploaded. They need to be between 01 to 40 Kb and 03 to 40 Kb respectively.
  • The passport-sized photo has to be of 140 height x 110 width pixels while the signature should be of 110 height x 140 width pixels.
  • Both the files needs to be uploaded
  • After the files have been uploaded, one needs to click the checkbox, which states, “I Agree” in order to approve the declaration and complete the process of submitting the IES form.

For future reference, the candidates are advised to take a printout of the ORA. There is no need to send the application form via post.
