For someone with 4-5 years of work experience, what are the roles offered by recruiting companies post-MBA? Are they analyst positions or do they involve supervisory/management roles?

Admitted...... :)

Congratulations all who have made it.

Had a quick query though... whilst reading the terms for a student permit its mentioned that "If you are applying for a study or work permit and require a temporary resident visa, it is not necessary to make a separate application or pay a separate fee; an officer will issue it at the same time as the documentation necessary for your entry to Canada as a student."

Just wanted to reassure is anybody applying for both separately or just applying for study permit suffice????

Appreciate the help, Thank you.

Thank You,
Kiran

Just applying for the sudy permit will suffice..

Hi Ex/Current Schulich Students et al.

I have a few queries regd. MBA in India program:

1) I saw the following in the Canadian Immigration site (Work permits for students: Working after graduation - Who can apply) that If the official length of your program of study is "less than two years but more than eight months" --> Then" you may get a work permit for a period no longer than the length of your program of study (for example, if you studied for nine months, a work permit may be issued for a period of nine months)".
It also says: "A Post-Graduation work permit cannot be valid for longer than the student's study program"
Is this applicable for the MBA in India program? In that case how long can be the validity of my work permit - is that only 9 months i.e. the time we spend in Canada ??
I am perplexed, please explain.

2) This question may sound naive but I will still like to ask: Considering the fact that the '2012 Winter MBA in India' course ends in April, 2013 and imagining that some one may take 3/4 months after that to land a job, how exactly can that person stay in Canada (I assume Student Visa will expire in April, 2013)? Is it based on Student Visa or Work Permit or temporary resident visa ? It will be really helpful, if anyone of you can explain with details.

Regards,
Sumanta Chatterjee

P.S: I jumped into questions and forgot to give my introduction : I applied to Schulich MBA in India program, had the chance to talk to some of the wonderful people of the school in between, received an Admit yesterday and looking forward to getting my queries answered so that I can take an informed decision 😃

Thanks for replies, it was intended for you only.

About the scores, could you confirm that we need to report the score to this one :

York University - Schulich School of Business - India MBA, Full Time

Found this on GMAT score report option or someone else.

1. Sending you a pm with my profile, share yours.
2. Thanks to confirm, they replied to me quickly for the missing docs.
3. Thanks for the interview info.

PM coming your way.

Dear Sumanta,

Congratulations on the admit, Schulich MBA in India is an amazing program, visit the http://indiablog.schulich.yorku.ca for more information. My email ID is [email protected] should you want more information with regard to this amazing program.

Now to answer your question,

Study Permit is valid till June/July 2013, so when you apply you will get a Study Permit that will allow you to stay in Canada with Student Permit until July 2013.

Before you graduate, students apply for a work permit and nobody from my current batch has applied yet. But I will refer to the facts, last year's batch 2011 students applied and everybody who followed protocol and applied just before graduation and attached all the paper work suggested by the Canadian government and made available by the school got a 3 year work permit. So 99% of students who followed protocol and applied according to procedure got a 3 year work permit.

Hope I have answered your question.

Regards,
Mark

Hello Mark,

Thank you.
Yes, you did answer both of my questions. Its just that the information given in the Welcome Page | Page d'accueil talks in a different way, as they clearly mentioned that the validity of work permit can be of 3 years only if the course itself is a four-year degree program, not to mention the other information as I put in my previous post.

Your facts are crystal clear, I was just wondering about how could there be a difference in the reality and the information given in the site. Any thought !

Regards,
Sumanta

Dear Sumanta, I always refer to facts, information on websites can be open to individual interpretations that can be misleading or misunderstood.

I can give you 10 great reasons why Schulich over any other school. When it comes to things like visa, work permit nobody except Canadian government official can comment, as they control the process. So that is why I referred to facts.

Canada welcomes international students and 40% of Schulich Students are international. At this time I will only refer to the facts. Anybody else who advises you would be giving his/her version of the story, please ask them if they have applied and got a reject.

It is important to follow protocol and take guidance and apply at the right time to get a work permit. I stress that following the procedure is most important, all those who did got a 3 years work permit.

Regards,
Mark
