Chapter 1: Nishi Jain
"Yoga is not about touching your toes, it’s about what you learn on the way down"
I have been practicing yoga since the age of 6, and I can only thank my parents for introducing me to this transcendental practice. Initially, my relationship with yoga was extremely traditional. It was just another activity that I was good at and was recognized for at several state-level yoga championships. I also got the opportunity to represent my state at the nationals level during my schooling years.
However, as time passed by, I noticed the potency and impact of practicing yoga and the influence it had on my personality development. The realization of its power has helped me acquire it as my go-to for tranquility and rest. During the lockdown, I even started my Instagram page for sharing this power of yoga to the world.
As a student of the MBA programme at K J Somaiya Institute of Management, I was anxious about not getting enough time or having the energy to continue practicing yoga due to the hectic MBA lifestyle. However, in my initial days of induction, I was delighted to learn that the college has a strong belief in a comprehensive set-up and consciously works towards the holistic development of its students.
As a member of the Student Council, I was given the opportunity to organize weekly yoga and dance fitness sessions, which helped me keep up with my practice and several other students unwind.
Dear Aspirants, a small update on the application forms. Kindly note that applicants are required to update their NMAT scores and not their percentiles.
