Students of MBA - Retail Management at K J Somaiya Institute of Management organised the flagship event of their programme, 'National Retail Summit'. The theme for the event this year was ‘Reimagining Retail’. Day 1 started with the inaugural ceremony by esteemed guests Mr. Satish Shenoy, Senior President Corporate Management Audit, Aditya Birla Group as the Keynote Speaker, and Mr. Mukesh Gajra, VP Business Non-Apparels, Reliance Trends as the Guest of Honour. The guests shared their views and experience in the retail industry. The event proceeded with Kurukshetra, a live case study competition judged by Mr. Bhargab Dutta, Aditya Birla Group and Mr. Tarun Vashishtha, Pantaloons. Day 2 started with even higher spirits, starting with a Panel Discussion including dignitaries like Ms. Benazir Miller, Sr. General Manager - Technology, Shoppers Stop, Mr. Bhavik Jhaveri, Director - Product for Supply Chain and Omnichannel, Myntra and Mr. Raunak Zatakia, Manager - Project Management, Manyavar shared their insights. The Panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Isaac Jacob, Area Chairperson - Marketing and International Business. The event concluded with Brand-O-Mania, a brand strategy case study competition. The jury for the competition comprised of experts like Mr. Reuben Pandian, Cutting Chai Technologies and Alumnus of 1995 Batch and Mr. Amit Sethiya, SYSKA Group

We welcome you to celebrate with us our new gratitude series - Mentor in Focus, showcasing the tireless educators at K J Somaiya Institute of Management. Dr. Vandana Tandon Khanna attained her Ph.D. in Management at Kurukshetra University in 2003 (Marketing Practices in Selected Service Sector Organisations in India) and is a Master in Tourism Management alumni of the same university. She has mentorship and teaching experience of around 22 years. Dr. Khanna currently has 6 Ph.D. scholars pursuing under her counsel and has previously guided 3 other candidates towards successfully completing their doctoral studies. She serves as a jury member for the DMA Asia Echo Awards.

The theme for SICTIM this year is ‘Digital Disruption and Knowledge Society.’ The conference will provide a platform to corporate professionals, faculty, academicians, research scholars, students and international participants to submit their papers and showcase their ideas. The deadline for abstract submission stands on 15th February 2021, while the last date for registration to attend the conference is on 15th March 2021.
