NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2025 - Academic Qualification and Age Limit

The NMC has announced that the NEET PG 2025 exam will take place on 15th June 2025.

NEET PG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who do not meet the specified eligibility criteria will not be admitted to the postgraduate course. If it is discovered at any stage that a candidate has provided false information, their admission will be canceled.

The NEET PG 2025 eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Candidates must hold an MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS degree certificate, recognised under the IMC Act 1956 and NMC Act 2019.
  • Along with the degree or certificate, candidates must have completed their internship by July 31, 2025.
  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir must submit a signed affidavit confirming that they were admitted through centralised counseling, along with a printed acknowledgment of the NEET PG application form submission.
  • It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements. If found ineligible at any point, their candidature will be canceled. Even after passing the exam and being allocated a seat through NEET PG 2025 counseling, ineligible candidates may be asked to vacate their seat.
  • No exceptions will be made to the eligibility guidelines, so candidates should only apply if they have valid degrees. Any application based on invalid degree or internship certificates will be canceled.
  • Completing the NEET PG registration does not guarantee a seat in the PG program. Candidates must pass the exam and participate in NEET PG 2025 counseling, where seats will be allocated.
  • The internship certificate must clearly state the start and end dates of the Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship program and must be submitted in original.
  • Colleges recognised after the NMC cutoff date are considered invalid for NEET PG eligibility.
  • Registration with the NMC, MCI, or the State Medical Council is mandatory. Candidates must provide documentary proof on the day of submission.
  • According to some university/institute eligibility rules, candidates already pursuing a PG degree in any college or university are not eligible to apply for another PG program at the same college and may be denied admission. NBE, MCC, or MoHFW will not be responsible for cancellations in such cases.
  • Candidates are allowed to go through the registration process only once.
