Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM) 2024
KEAM 2024 Exam Information
CEE Kerala has recently announced the revised exam dates for KEAM 2024 for engineering and pharmacy courses. The engineering paper is scheduled to take place from June 5 to 9, while the pharmacy exam will be conducted on May 9, 2024. The deadline for KEAM 2024 registration was April 19, 2024. Please note that there has been a recent change to the official website of CEE.
KEAM 2024 will be administered online in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Any official updates regarding this will be provided here after the announcement. Meanwhile, candidates can refer to the previous year’s KEAM exam pattern for preparation. KEAM consists of two separate papers: Engineering (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and BPharm (Physics and Chemistry). Candidates aspiring for engineering admissions are required to appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
CEE Kerala has extended the deadline for form correction, allowing candidates to verify and edit their details until May 15, 2024, at 3 PM.
Admit cards for KEAM 2024 will be available for download from May 20 for all successfully registered candidates. The engineering question paper consists of a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), while the BPharm question paper contains 75 MCQs. Candidates are allotted 180 minutes and 90 minutes to attempt the Engineering and BPharm papers, respectively. Each correct answer in the KEAM exam carries 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
The KEAM Syllabus 2024 PDF includes topics from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry up to the standard of Class 12th or equivalent examination. However, it’s worth noting that the questions are not exclusively based on NCERT or other textbooks.
CEE Kerala will oversee the examination at four KEAM 2024 Exam Centers, namely Kerala, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Dubai. Candidates applying for KEAM 2024 must have completed their 10+2 education or its equivalent, securing at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The KEAM Merit List is crafted by assigning equal weightage (50:50) to KEAM scores and Class 12th marks in PCM subjects. To qualify for KEAM 2024, candidates need to attain a minimum of 10 marks each in Paper 1 and Paper 2. A score of 400+ can be deemed as a favorable outcome in the KEAM 2024 examination.
The Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM) is a state-level entrance examination administered by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE). It serves as a gateway for admission to engineering and pharmacy colleges throughout Kerala, encompassing self-financed, government, and private institutions. Admissions to architecture and medical programs rely on NATA and NEET scores, respectively.

KEAM 2024 Syllabus
CEE has updated the KEAM 2024 syllabus. The revised syllabus can be found on this page in PDF format. Candidates must adhere to the modified syllabus for their KEAM 2024 preparation. It’s crucial not to rely on the old syllabus, as all questions in KEAM 2024 will be based on topics outlined in the revised syllabus. The KEAM syllabus PDF encompasses Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
To excel in KEAM, it’s essential to familiarize oneself with both the syllabus and the exam pattern. This year, CEE has introduced changes to the KEAM exam pattern. KEAM 2024 will be conducted in computer-based test mode, featuring a single paper instead of two. The engineering entrance exam for KEAM 2024 will comprise 150 questions, with Mathematics accounting for 75 questions, Physics for 45 questions, and Chemistry for 30 questions. Candidates will have a total of 180 minutes to complete the exam.
For candidates appearing solely for the KEAM 2024 BPharm entrance exam, there will be 45 questions in Physics and 30 questions in Chemistry, to be completed within 90 minutes. Each correct answer will earn candidates four marks, while an incorrect answer will result in a one-mark deduction.

KEAM 2024 Result
CEE will release the KEAM result in the form of a scorecard, accessible through the respective candidate logins. Starting this year, candidates will receive normalized scores in KEAM. As the KEAM exam will be conducted in multiple sessions, CEE will normalize the KEAM 2024 scores. The Index Mark after normalization will be 300. Candidates will be able to view their normalized scores in the KEAM scorecard.
After the announcement of KEAM scores via the scorecard, candidates will have a specified period to submit their 10+2 scores. The final KEAM 2024 rank list is then compiled based on standardized scores of 10+2 and KEAM 2024 scores. Those who have cleared the engineering entrance exam and submitted their 10+2 marks can access the result through the candidate portal. A 50:50 weightage is assigned to 10+2 scores and KEAM normalized scores while preparing the KEAM engineering rank list. Based on the KEAM 2024 rank list, CEE allocates seats to candidates through the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP-2024). The rank list is prepared separately for all courses, and the ranking criteria for each course varies.
How is the KEAM 2024 Result Compiled?
The KEAM 2024 result is compiled in two ways:
KEAM 2024 Scorecard:
The scorecard is accessible under the respective candidate logins on the official website. In the scorecard, candidates can review their marks in the KEAM 2024 exam. The marks are provided subject-wise and in total.
KEAM 2024 Rank List:
The KEAM rank list is formulated based on the marks of the qualifying exam and KEAM 2024 marks. The weightage of the qualifying exam marks and KEAM marks varies for rank lists PDF for Engineering, Architecture, BPharm, MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BSMS/BUMS/Agriculture/Forestry/Veterinary/Co-operation & Banking/Climate Change & Environmental Science/B.Tech Biotechnology (under KAU)/Fisheries and BAMS.
KEAM 2024 Normalization Process
To ensure fairness for candidates due to the KEAM examinations being conducted in multiple sessions, a normalization procedure is adopted.
The total score of the Entrance Examination is normalized based on a procedure approved by the Normalization Committee. The Index Mark after normalization will be 300.
KEAM 2024 Qualifying Marks
There are no minimum marks required to qualify in the KEAM exam. However, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Course |
Qualifying Marks |
---|---|
Engineering |
The candidates who fail to answer at least one question in the examination will be disqualified and cannot find a place in the Engineering Rank list. |
Pharmacy |
A candidate who fails to answer at least one question in the Physics and Chemistry Sections of the Engineering Entrance Examination will be disqualified and cannot find a place in the BPharm Rank list. |

KEAM Cutoff
The KEAM 2024 cutoff, issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala for all counselling phases, is presented in the form of last ranks categorized by round and category. Following each round of KEAM seat allotment, CEE publishes the final ranks on the official website. The KEAM 2024 cutoff list includes the concluding ranks for different colleges and courses participating in each counselling round.
The KEAM 2024 cutoff marks will depend on how well everyone does in the exam, how tough the test is, and how many seats are available. After the results are out, CEE Kerala will announce the cutoff marks. If you score equal to or higher than the cutoff, you’ll make it to the merit list. Then, you’ll get invited to counseling sessions where they’ll assign seats in different colleges and courses. They’ll release a separate cutoff after each counseling round, showing the highest and lowest ranks accepted for each college and course.
