NIFT Jodhpur – National Institute of Fashion Technology Overview

National Institute of Fashion Technology, Jodhpur started its journey in 2010. This institute had a temporary setting in its earlier time but later came up with its permanent urban setting of Jodhpur. This government-aided NIFT was established by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

NIFT Jodhpur offers seven fashion courses, which include B.Des and Masters of Fashion Management courses. These NIFT courses are available in subjects like Fashion Communication, Apparel production, Fashion Management etc. Many lateral entry courses on UG level are also available in the institute.

Jodhpur NIFT has many accreditations and achievements in its record. This institute is accredited with other institutes within Jodhpur. NIFT Jodhpur is ranked 121 on popularity basis in India. NIFT Jodhpur started offering fashion courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level of study as an enlisted institute among the 16 NIFTs in India.

NIFT Jodhpur Courses offered and Fee structure

NIFT Jodhpur offers many fashion courses on different academic levels. These NIFT courses include B. Des, MFM (Masters of Fashion Management) and B.F Tech. (Bachelor of Fashion Technology).

At the undergraduate level, B.Des (Bachelor of Design) course is offered that includes subjects like Textile Design, Apparel Design, Fashion Design etc. All the courses are offered in full-time options. B.Des and B.F. Tech courses are covered in four years. Lateral options for these two courses are covered in three years. 

At the Masters level, a degree of MFM is available, which is offered for two years.

NIFT fee structure for B. Des and for B.F Tech course is 1.13 lakh rupees. At the postgraduate level, NIFT Jodhpur fee structure for MFM and M.Des courses are 4.58 lakh rupees. Another course on the Masters level, the M.F.Tech course fee is 4.57 lakhs.

 NIFT Jodhpur Admission Process

The applicants of the fashion courses get admitted to a particular course on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam. The NIFT has its own entrance exam that includes two tests. CAT and GAT are the tests included in the entrance exam of the NIFT admission. For getting into this college, candidates must ensure NIFT eligibility for the respective course.

Candidates, who are seeking NIFT Jodhpur admission, have to get certain marks in the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). At the undergraduate level, B. Des and B.F Tech candidates have to score certain marks in the CAT exam. 

At the postgraduate level, MDes, M.FTech and MFM candidates have to get a certain score in the GAT exam. Any candidate failing to get certain marks in these exams cannot become a part of the institute.

• For admission in full-time B. Des and B.F. Tech course, CAT score is considered.
• For admission in full-time M.F.M. course, GAT score is considered.
• For admission in full-time M.F Tech program at the postgraduate level, GAT score is considered.

The institute has a training and placement cell that is responsible for NIFT placements of the passed out students. The training cell gives training to students, preparing them to face the real competitive working environment. The department also conducts mock tests, mock interviews etc., which are held in the training session to enhance chances of students’ selection in the interviews.

NIFT Jodhpur Results and Cut-off

The NIFT cutoff list is announced after the qualifying exam or NIFT result is out for the year. NIFT Jodhpur prepares the cut-off list on the basis of some factors like the number of candidates appearing in the exam, their marks in the qualifying exam, the difficulty level of the exam and the number of seats available in the institute.

The candidates have to cross the cut-off mark in order to get entry into the course. They have to score equal to or higher than the cut-off score presented in the list. BDes and BF Tech candidates have to cross the CAT cut-off mark. M Des, M F Tech and MFM candidates have to cross the GAT cut-off mark.
