Mepco Schlenk Engineering College is sponsored by the Mepco Schlenk Charities, a social welfare organization of the Metal Powder Company and its German collaborator, Schlenk. The college is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai until 2002.
Later it was affiliated by the Anna University of Technology in Chennai. Mepco Schlenk Engineering College has seven currently functioning departments namely Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and more.
These departments offer B.E courses with five specializations and B.Tech with two specializations at the Undergraduate level of study. Also, it offers M.E courses with six specializations and M.Tech in one stream at the Postgraduate level of study.
