Department of Management Sciences (DoMS) – IIT Kanpur Campus Facilities

IIT Kanpur offers a comprehensive range of campus facilities for students of the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS) and the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering (IME).

Academic & Research Infrastructure

• Modern Classrooms & Labs: Both departments feature well-ventilated classrooms and dedicated laboratories. The IME department houses a System Optimization Laboratory equipped with Pentium workstations connected via LAN, facilitating both teaching and research activities.

• Research Centers: IIT Kanpur hosts several interdisciplinary research centers, including the Centre for Energy Regulation (CER) and the Energy Analytics Lab (EAL), which support advanced research in energy and management sciences.

Hostel & Accommodation

• Hostel Facilities: The campus provides 13 boys’ hostels and 3 girls’ hostels. MBA students typically receive single occupancy rooms in their second year, while first-year students may have double occupancy. Rooms are furnished with essentials like beds, study tables, cupboards, and fans.

• Amenities: Hostels are equipped with 24×7 high-speed internet, geysers, and solar panels. Each hostel has its own mess, canteen, and recreational areas, including courts for volleyball, badminton, and basketball.

Dining & Food Services

• Mess & Canteens: Each hostel has an attached mess offering diverse and hygienic meals. Menus are regularly updated based on student feedback. Additionally, canteens within hostels operate until late hours, providing snacks and beverages.

Health & Wellness

• Medical Facilities: The campus includes a health center providing medical services to students. Some hostels also have basic medical facilities for minor health concerns.

• Sports Complex: IIT Kanpur boasts a comprehensive sports complex with facilities for various indoor and outdoor games. Hostels have their own courts for sports like badminton, basketball, and volleyball.
