IIT Madras Integrated Course Admission 2024

IIT Madras offers three dual-degree programs, which are integrated courses spanning 5 years in selected engineering and science disciplines. Admission is based on JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exams, conducted at various centers nationwide. The key details of these programs are as follows:

The IIT Madras MA program is a two-year course, open only to GATE-qualified candidates through the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. To earn the M.A. degree, students must complete a minimum of 200 credits. The program offers 25 seats for Indian students, with additional seats for foreign students. IIT Madras provides a two-year Executive MBA (EMBA) program tailored for mid-career working professionals. Admission to this program is granted through an entrance examination and an interview conducted by the institute.

IIT Madras EMBA Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Additionally, candidates are required to have a minimum of 3 years of work experience.

IIT Madras Admission Criteria for EMBA Selection

Candidates must participate in the Department of Management Studies (DoMS) entrance examination administered by the institute. Successful candidates will be invited for a personal interview. Admission will be granted based on the combined performance in the written test and interview, as reflected in the final merit list.

IIT Madras Ph. & MS (Research) Eligibility

MS (Research) 

• Eligible candidates should hold a B.E/B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline.
• Candidates with an MFT (Major Field Test) qualification are also eligible to apply for the M.S program.

PhD 

• Applicants should possess a Master’s or a dual degree in the relevant disciplines with a CGPA of 6.5 or above.
• Those with a BE/BTech degree can apply directly for a PhD (MS+PhD) program in Engineering or Sciences after completing their Bachelor’s degree.
• Exceptional M.S scholars with a CGPA > 8.0 have the eligibility to transition to the PhD program within the same department, earning a dual degree (MS+PhD) upon program completion.

IIT Madras PhD & MS (Research) Selection Criteria

To apply for PhD programs, candidates need to have a valid score in exams like UGC NET, CSIR NET, or JRF. On the other hand, a strong GATE score is mandatory for admission to the MS (By Research) program.

For research courses in the field of Management, candidates should possess an MBA degree along with a valid JRF or NET score.
