IIT Mandi admissions for 2025 in its UG and PG programs are based on national-level entrance exams. The institute’s flagship program, BTech, is offered for a duration of 4 years. Admission to this program is solely determined by JEE Advanced scores, after qualifying JEE Mains. The JoSAA counselling will release six rounds of cutoffs for the seat allotment process.

IIT Mandi also offers MTech, MSc, MBA, and MA programs at the postgraduate level. For MTech and MSc, admissions are based on GATE and IIT JAM scores, followed by the respective counselling processes. Additionally, IIT Mandi has introduced a new MTech course in Electric Transportation. MA admissions are based on merit, a written test, and a personal interview. A full-time, two-year MA in development studies programme is available at IIT Mandi. Admission for MS and PhD at IIT Mandi

In the areas of Engineering, Science, and Social Science, IIT Mandi offers admission to MS by Research and Ph.D. programmes in Regular, Part-Time, Sponsored, External, Project Staff, and Lateral Entry formats.

Ph.D. admissions are typically done in the months of July and December, but applications are accepted all year long.

Direct Admission Requirements for PhD Program:

• those those who obtained an overall grade point average of at least 80 percent while completing their B.Tech at one of the IITs. with a minimum of two years of work experience in a reputable R&D business and a BE/B.Tech degree
• Research Scholars under the External Registration Scheme, QIP, and Institute Staff are also eligible to apply in the part-time method.
• Candidates from Himachal and J&K can also apply for admission to part-time MS and Ph.D. programmes at IIT Mandi.
• Students who have been accepted for an M.Tech. or MS degree at an accredited university or institute and have finished at least one semester of the programme will be given admission to the MS by Research Lateral Entry programme.
