IIT Bombay Scholarships

IIT Bombay offers numerous scholarships, providing financial assistance to eligible students. These scholarships include Postgraduate Assistantships, MS Scholarships, Teaching Assistantships for Dual Degree Programs, and Undergraduate Scholarships. Under the UG Scholarships section, notable IIT Bombay Scholarships include the Institute cum Merit Scholarships, Remission of Fees, Names Scholarships/Private Scholarships, National Scholarships, and National Talent Search Scholarships.

To support students financially, IIT Bombay offers various scholarship schemes, including Institute Scholarships, Government Scholarships, Private Scholarships, and Fellowships for Ph.D. students. Each scholarship has specific eligibility criteria for qualification. Here are some of the popular scholarship schemes offered by IIT Bombay and private entities:

Merit Cum Means Scholarship (Institute Scholarship): This scholarship is awarded to new entrants based on their JEE AIR rank and for candidates with an annual family income below INR 4.5 lakhs. It includes a tuition fee waiver of INR 25,000 per semester and a monthly allowance of INR 1000 for up to 25% of undergraduate students. SC/ST students are exempt from tuition fees and receive additional benefits.

IIT Bombay Heritage Fund Scholarship: Established by IIT Bombay alumni in the USA, this scholarship supports students with parental annual incomes below INR 5 lakhs.

Dr. Burjor Godrej Scholarship: Available for M.Sc. Chemistry students, this scholarship offers various monthly stipends based on academic performance.

Aditya Birla Scholarship: This scholarship covers the entire course and provides INR 65,000 per annum. Renewal depends on students’ performance, with eligibility criteria based on qualitative and quantitative parameters. To qualify for renewal, candidates must rank in the top 25% of their batch and maintain a rating of at least 7 on a 9-point scale during coursework.
