Admission Process
All the applicants are admitted to the university courses based on the marks scored in their qualifying degree, entrance examination or admission tests (written and practical). Candidates need to score above a specified mark in these exams to get admitted to a particular course or discipline.
The entrance exams include PGCET (Postgraduate Common Entrance Test), KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), CSIR NET, UGC NET, SLET etc. Bangalore University admission 2019 information is available on the official website of the University.
- For the MBA, MCA, ME and M.Arch courses, admission is based on the marks obtained in Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) followed by counselling. For the ME and M.Arch programmes, GATE qualified candidates don’t need to appear in PGCET.
- Admissions for the MA, M.Sc, M.Ed, MSW and M.Lib.Sc courses are based on merit as per the marks secured at Graduation level.
- For the BE and B.Arch courses, admission is based on the marks scored in the KCET exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). For all other undergraduate courses, admission is purely merit-based.
- For the B.P.Ed course, admission is based on performance in the Physical Proficiency Test.
- For the PhD admissions, candidates need to qualify in the CSIR NET, UGC NET, SLET, GATE or JRF exams, hold an M.Phil degree or pass the PhD Entrance Test. Shortlisted candidates then need to appear for a personal interview.

Results and Cut-off
Bangalore University declares the cut-off list for its several courses and degrees once the results of their respective entrance examinations are calculated. The candidates need to obtain a score which is equal to or more than the cut-off mark specified by the university to get admitted to their desired courses.
For example, B.E and B.Arch aspirants need to clear the KCET Cut Off, PhD candidates need to clear the GATE cut-offs, and Postgraduate students get admitted on clearing the PGCET cut-offs. The cut-offs are relaxed for reserved candidates like SCs, STs and OBCs.

Bangalore University campus has a Library which keeps a rich collection of 3,36,000 books, 175 current periodicals, 8,554 Theses and Dissertations and 7,500 online journals.
The university provides hostel or lodging provisions for both boys and girls. There are eight boys and four girls hostels. The boys' hostel has a total of 2125 beds while the girls’ hostel has 793 beds.
The university has an athletics track, swimming pool, hockey field, football field, volleyball court, Tennis court, BasketBall court and unique century-old cricket ground and pavilion.
