UPSC CDS I 2019 Application Form

Registration for CDS I was concluded on the 30th of October, for the exam which is to be conducted on the 02 of February 2020. The Admit Cards have been made available for download from the official website from January.

CDS I Registration Highlights

  • Candidates can register only in online mode on UPSC official website. UPSC is the body that conducts CDS exam.
  • It is essential to go through the information bulletin of CDS Exam before applying to understand eligibility criteria.
  • The process is divided into two parts – Registration and then filling up of an online Application form containing details like Name, DoB, Father’s Name, Academic Qualifications etc.
  • For general category (UR) application fee is Rs. 200/-

I. Apply for CDS I 2019

Part I Registration

  • Candidates must visit the official site of UPSC Online (upsc.gov.in) and select the Exam tab.
  • Here, they will be able to select option of CDS Exam I 2019.
  • This will lead you to the Part I Registration page.
  • Here candidates need to provide basic details such as Name, Date of birth, Address, Category (UR/OBC/SC/ST) etc.
  • Next, candidate must indicate his/her preference for IMA, NA, AFA and OTA. Against each field you will be required to state a number from 1 to 4, with 1 indicating highest preference.
  • Specification about details of NCC Certificate and current enlistment with the Armed Forces will be required in the next step.
  • After this, the candidates must cross verify all details as entered by them and make changes as necessary. Edits to your application beyond this step are not permitted.
  • Unique Registration ID will be provided to you in the Confirmation of Registration I page. Print the same for future reference.

Part 2 Registration

  • After completing Registration Part I, candidate must select option of Registration Part II and log in using the Registration ID (acquired in Reg. Part I) and DoB.
  • The next step is payment of application fees which can be done in 3 ways – depositing money (Challan system), Netbanking or using Debit/Credit Card.
  • Post fee payment, candidates must upload their photograph and signature scan copies. The specifications have been mentioned below.
  • Preview and confirm the uploaded images.
  • Next, select exam Centre of your preference from the drop-down menu. Exam cCentre allocation is on first come first serve basis.
  • Once this is done, a confirmation page will be generated – print the same for reference.

II. Application Fee

Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only)

Fee: Rs. 200/- (Except for exempted categories)

Mode of Payment:

This can be done either by

  • depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, OR
  • using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore OR
  • using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

NOTE: If you opt for “Pay by Cash” mode, you are needed to print the system generated Pay in-slip during registration [Part-II] and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.
