hi

can someone pls tell me how many candidates are there in the selected list of xlri. In IMI, for 120 seats they included 191 candidates in the selected candidates list. so the waiting list no. 1 also could not be cleared.
so if in xlri also, if they include, say, 165 candidates inthe selec. candi. list for 125 seats then if a person has a waitlist no. 14, his real waitlist no. will be 54.

As i know it, XL has confirmed for only the equivalent number of seats. So waitlist 14 means an actual 14. Others may correct if this is wrong.

U were right dudes ! WLs in XLRI is real one .. No Overlaps !!

And regarding PMIR WL movement last year ! IT is 19 for sure dude ! my friend at XL confirmed that ....

2. we also have WL 12 and 14 opting out ! .. So another 2 up for all the ones below that range.

3. We may positively expect another 5 guys to opt out after IIM results !

Still we just have only around 36 guys in the entire count of 120 ! Now the million dollar Question is .... where are the others and what is the overall trend ??

hi crishna... me 2 in waitlist No 40 and would definitely join... thnx for gr8 analysis... it really has pepped me up a bit... i was feelin really down after being waitlisted... its like havin somethin in ur hand n still not being able to grab it!!!!
i hope u understand wat i mean to say... As Xl is my only option i m really anxious...

I am surprised, there are so many people with XL as the best call. Was the scene same last year too? This would drastically change the statistics of waitlist clearance. Somebody with second attempt kindly enlighten.

See if u understand human psyche... you would understand chances only people who are interested in XL or to put in simple words have XL as 1 of their best calls would regularly check this thread and reply often.... so relax! I still think XL waitlist should clear till 45-55!

I have 5 IIM calls and chances are that i would take an IIM over anything else irrespective of what people think or what current perception is.... Its my choice! Again it can change when I have to finally decide because I dont have a absolute interest in any field for specialization so i would evaluate all my options before taking the final plunge 😃

But you are right and so even sampling wont give any close answer. Let alone time decide.

i think this time the w/l will move a bit more ...my bet on 65+ for BM n 25+ for PMIR.well i think in this tension 4 the w/l guys y cant we hav a gamble. i mean lets individually quote 4 the w/l nos we think will clear upto n finally wen d results are out the guy/ga; closest 2 d magic figure wull get a treat 4m the rest of the d junta in XL.
so junta throw ur mullah(10/-) 'coz u cud win a treat of 600 bucks as soon as u join XL..supposing 60 guys try their lady luck

with waitlisted at 32 i am eagerly waiting for the letter .i called the XLRi office probably the letter will reach in a day or two,and the wler have to deposit 20k to be there in the wl by 20th.

guys .. i went thru this thread and the yahoo groups and kind of got a feeling that there are many ppl with XL as their best calls.... so it looks to me that the WL might not go far :wow: .....

many ppl have said that XL was more like CAT this year.. and there are chances of more overlap...but the trends so far are not encouraging....

lets pray that all XL call getters with IIM calls make it...and others clear there FMS/MDI waitlist..

i counted 42 guys in d xlri2007 yahoogrp who r in BM.so i think dis yr W/L is gonna come down to 25(+-5) BM.tough luck guys.....lots of ppl hav XL as thier best call.....

first and foremost many people do join Yahoo groups even if they are not 100% certain to join XL..

i feel that around 30 odd out of 120 will have IIM+ calls and out of the 30 in WL:1-30, atleast another 7-8.. i expect the figure in the end to touch 40..

btw what's ur W/L no.?

hey chill dude ,

I saw the yahoogroups and some lovely souls have filled up the database twice !! go and have a look at that again ! and some WL guys like me have also filled up that Database. So out of the 42 u were taking abt, only around 32-35 will really count. this has around 12 peole with better calls.

Another scenario.... I have 149 (WL 30) guys who have better positioning that me in XL admissions. But still, I was able to track only around 46 guys (may be 52 with the yahoogrp inputs) .... still there are around 100 fellas, whose whereabouts are not known. I dont mean to say all these 100 guys will have IIM calls . but the same trend may continue and around 30-35 People out of the 120 call getters may opt out and another 15 in the top 50 WL will push out ... So around 50-60 WLers will move in !

Relax if you are within WL 50 ..... Your day is not far away .....

hope ur predictions turn true else i 'l hav 2 sweep the mines of my comp for another yr ........nyway my XAT % was very low 97.5......donno no how they put me up d waitlist....by d way do u kno whether we hav 2 b jamshedpur at nytime during this process of w/l movemnt n admission......'coz my manger is forcefully sendin me 2 bangy for 1.5 months now......god help me !!!

You Dont have to be there at all @ any stage of admission. If your WL moves, you will get a official call letter and you need to pay the additional fee and admit urself ! u dont have to be there in J'pur till 3 week of june
