Nice initiative Pooja... I appeared for TISS 2010 and cleared the written test... But unfortunately couldn't clear the GD/PI. So planning to write this yr also... As for as TISS written test is concerned the GK questions are quite easy if you read newspapers quite regularly... The only difficult section is the Business knowledge section in paper 2...

Hi
I am preparing for a totally different course i.e., Human Resource Management and Labour Relations.
I am also a non-medical student. Don't have much idea about that course. Anyways, we'll try to help you as much as possible. Paper 1 is common to all the courses and is a subjective paper, its a general aptitude paper consisting of 3 sections, Quantitive, Verbal and Data Interpretation. They also ask General Awareness questions. Paper 2 is course specific and its a subjective paper. You an Google the net for sample papers. Paper 1 is quiet easy consists of common aptitude questions. TISS will also upload sample papers once they start selling the application forms for the current year.
You can start preparing for aptitude via internet or buy materials from different institutes. You can also go for R S Agarwals aptitude book. They have excellent quant in it. There are other institutes which offer management in Medial field. Please search internet, through their websites for more info.

I am a HR lawyer practising Labour & Employment Law, and deal a lot with HR professionals, and hence the inclination towards HR. Hope i am of some help here. Will be answering XAT for XLRI and also the TISS entrance.
My worry is the Quant part of the Tiss Paper..Could you tell me about its difficulty level, and even concepts that are frequently tested?

the quant part for TISS is at very basic level.....infact u need not even put pen on paper for solving the questions
refer to the sample paper they had put for TISS 2010 (its 2009 actual paper) and any how if u prepare for XAT...TISS paper should be a cake walk
all the best
Hello Everybody...
Thank you very much for starting this thread as i was in a fix so as to how to start preparing for TISS exam. M a fresher, n yet to be grad (appearing 3rd year in dec)...... So any help from seniors would be appreciated. I am interested in HRM & LR course. I am aware of the TISS selection pattern. So no worries on that. I needed a group (Pagalguy.com came to my rescue) with whom I can study and clear my doubts. Hope m not too finicky here.
Thanks & Regards
fenikkusu
we all will help each other and study together.... I would suggest TIME material to refer, they have nice questions. As for GK, I'll be back in some time with some content.
Check out this 2008 Interview of the Tiss Director
Its really very informative and gives us a clear understanding about the entrance procedure as well as life at Tiss
One query that comes to mind is w.r.t. the 15 % academic weightage. Now have they done it like IIM-A, different fields of grad carry different ratings, or is it on a flat scale, and they consider only the percentage irrespective of the field? Engg with 65% in Grad is completly different from Law with 65%.
