Sorry for the delay, I saw your post just now :). PGPIM@IMI is meant for working professionals like you only. The course was started more than 20 years back, so it has a good standing in the Industry. About the faculty, Faculty is IMI's strength - I can safely say that our faculty is among the best in India. IMI has been able to attract and retain the best faculty members in India since the salaries here are 35% more than even the IIMs. Placement assistance was not provided to the PGPIM guys (for obvious reasons), but it will be provided this year onwards. Going for MBA or not is completely your personal decision, I just wanted to answer your queries regarding the PGPIM programme at IMI. In case you have any other queries related to the same, please feel free to contact us.
I hope it helps.
All the Best!

Are people with 2 years of work-ex eligible for any of these programs?
Watch out for a few words about the Great Lakes program coming up in the next few days on the portal

Hi. There is no cutoff marks for GMAT at Great Lakes. Though, there are students with scores 650, 680 etc.. Again, the admission is also based on your recommendation letters, Application essays and interview.. The admission process is very similar to that followed in US B-schools with enough weightage for recos, application essays etc.. And yeah.. scores *may be* weighted less (not necessarily always 😃 ) compared to essays and recos, if you come with good industry experience and is able to project them.. More details are available at the Great Lakes website. !!
subbu.. eagerly waiting for the article on Great Lakes.. !!!

Pleasure is mine.. !!! I do understand your concern.. 😃 .. But, I am wondering how that piece of info will help you in the whole process... I believe none of the institutes publish this information in their websites... !! I might sound redundant, but -"Strive to do better in what you do" is all what I can say.. Do let me know if you have any further queries.. :)

ok i have a question to ppl on a 1 year MBA. esp ones with a placement prog.
If the course starts in April and ends in March. Placement season usually starts in Oct, Nov. And i know for a fact most guys dont study once they get placed!
Now assuming a guy is doin a one year MBA wanting to do a spec say in OB. 1st 6 months he does a gen MBA and 2 months specialisation. by which time he gets placed....uske baad kya padaiye hoga? kya motivation bacha hai?
To pass term papers?....how many Bschoolls flunk students on the last sem?
Any idea if these one year MBAs are good for Finance ? I too am looking at an MBA 2006 - but strictly 1 year and in India.......
Hi ,
I'm a confused with how to approach my career goals. Please go thru the following and help me:
I've been working in an Software MNC for the last 1.5 yrs (joined in May 2004). Before this I did my MCA from SVIM, Indore (2001-2004). Even before that I did my graduation in electronics from indore (1998-2001).
The thing is, I seriously wanted to be an engineer (the seriously has been added after I couldn't get a seat in Engg). But due to poor preps and not so much commitment, I did my BSc and then I did MCA to fulfill 1/2 of ambition, i.e. to have sound technical knowledge.
I was very serious through out my MCA, and kind of made a 180 degree turn as far as my commitment was concerned. As I was completing my PG, I knew that the other half of my career goal was still left unsatisfied. I wanted to do MBA. So I thought as soon as I'll complete my MCA, I'll start preps for CAT. But due to some personal problems, I had to put that plan on hold (my Big Bro started working before he could complete his PG, due to financial problems. So now it was his turn to study n my turn to work, no issues with that).
Now I have a very good position in my company, I've done a lot of hard work, got very good assignments and really enjoyed the last 18 months working. But I want to do my MBA, and I mean from the best possible place. I am preparing for CAT 2006, and also GMAT.
Now comes the questions
1. Is it really worth to do an MBA after my masters (I'm aiming the TOP 10 B Schools)?
2. With my preference being Software Enterprise Mgt as the field, which Schools can offer me the best courses?
3. Is a 1Yr MBA (from lets say ISB) better for me as I've already "invested" 6 years into education after Higher Secondary?
4. With my total exp > 2.5 yrs (in which the exposure I got was functional as well as technical), what kind of scores should I be looking for in CAT and GMAT (for ISB)?
Please help me, as I need to converge to the finer points. I am totally committed towards doing it in the best possible manner.
Thanks n Cheers,
Vamsi Duvvuri

Hello knowledge Gurus,
As requested in the above post kindly tell us what does the industry & recruiters think about such 1 yr. MBA courses.
Perticularly what do you think about BIM-BANG branch.
Would it be as good as S.P. Jain DUBAI ?
As per the info the faculty is the same as BIM TRICHY
and it has the location advantage too???
But would it be worth investing 4 lacs and most importantly a year of our academic career?????
