Target JBIMS.. dream team 2012.. do you have it in you...

Thanks for starting this thread....
I was waiting for this thread to start And you took the initiative .. :D:D That's reallly greatttt .... :cheerio::cheerio:

:clap::clap:REally helpful and beneficial for all of us who are aspiring for JBIMS.. :clap::clap:

Thanks a lotttt once again... !!! :cheers::cheers:

Thanks Sir to start this thread..

I am only targeting JBIMS... if no JB then no CET...

not interested in any other college..

Great initiative. Missed out on JB this year by 4 marks. More than eager to change that. Subscribing to this thread.

Great Ravneet ,

Good to see my pal bck on PG ... Hope we can contribute in tandem ... πŸ˜ƒ

can you post the oms cut offs for this year....??

Go thru this link you will come to know about the cutoffs for each and every college along with category...
Home Page of Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra State Open in IE..

:cheers::cheers:

thanku seniors...u would be very helpfull to us (OMS candidates,myself from lucknow,U.P) who have lil idea abt CET...heard the paper diffivulty level changed last year...plz tell abt startegy n prep books...i m weak in RCs n series questions..beside others
n i aspire to b student of JBIMS...

So Ravneet ,

Let us relive the exhilarating experiences and am happy that yu returned from our golden 05-07 period πŸ˜ƒ ... Till now me was a loner here πŸ˜ƒ

Sirjee,plz tell how to solve such qs in few seconds-
Q-a:b=3:2 b:c=5:6 c:d=8:4 a:b:c:d=?
values taken are arbitrary jst example..

Basically this follows the theorem -

a:b , c:d , e:f - so the ratio is - ace:bce:bde:bdf , so its speedy and yur answer will be - 15:10:12:6 .... just tell me if this is the answer you were looking for and the method !!

i would just try if any of the options fits in.

yes ,thanku

I also want to know quick method of solving Input-Ouput qs...i m doing it from RS Agarwal reasoning book...is tthere any other method than that given in book...plz share because i make stupid mistakes in I-O qs.

i have the data of the oms cut-offs of the top 3 for 2011...rest u have to visit the dte website...for the top 3, here u go:

JBIMS--170; 167; 167 (AIR--26):shocked:
Sydenham MMS--162; 158; 156 (AIR--94)
Sydenham PGDM--160; 157; 155 (AIR--111)
K.J.Somaiya--158; 156; 153 (AIR--135)

P.S.--CAP rounds have been separated by semi-colon...for example, JBIMS round-1 cut-off was 170, while round-2 cut-off was 167...

hope this helps....

i am oms and looking for only jb in mh cet.......

Guys If you are targeting only CET and JBIMS... (only for those who taking CET only)

I will advise take SNAP and NMAT as well..

..

Hi guys..

Input output is one of the most important question in CET...

Input output in last few years: (see attachment)
2011 - 5 marks

I have taken last 5 years CET papers myself and seen IO questions are fixed.. ie similar questions are coming every year... will try to share the type of questions in a document in some days..

These questions are easy and you have to solve them otherwise JBIMS is out of scope.

You have to guess the pattern by looking at the positions of the words/numbers in the series and solve the questions.

RS Agrawal or your coaching institute notes should be enough to practice these questions...

Cheers
Rav

I will be taking NMAT this november :nervous:
I have done Input-Ouput chapter from RS Agarwal ....but not from CET actual paper...plz post CET I-O qs and i would like to attempt and learn.
Sirjee,plz tell how to solve such qs in few seconds-
Q-a:b=3:2 b:c=5:6 c:d=8:4 a:b:c:d=?
values taken are arbitrary jst example..

a:b=3:2----------->(1)

b:c=5:6----------->(2 )

Now b is the common term / ratio make them equal in both .....

(1) * 5 => a: b = 15 : 10

(2) * 2 => b : c = 10: 12

Now see B is equall to 10 in both ( 1 ) and ( 2 )

a:b:c = 15:10:12 ---------> (3)

Take the third ratio and proceed again similarly

c:d=8:4 ---------> ( 4 )

Make c equal in both ( 3 ) and ( 4 )

( 3 ) * 2 = > a :b : c = 30 : 20 : 24

And ( 4 ) * 3 => c : d = 24 : 12

Now U have c equal in both ( 3) and ( 4 )

so U can say :

a : b : c : d = 30 : 20 : 24 : 12

Reduce it further

a : b : c : d = 15 : 10 : 12 : 6

some qs ..want to knw easy ways--OAs not available with me-
1)The numbers 1,2,3,, 100 are partitioned into two sets A and B. What is the
maximum number of different sums (a + b) you can have , where a is in A and b is
in B?

ii) How many palindromic numbers are less than 10,000 ?
iii) What is the 2009 palindromic number?

4)
P is a convex polyhedron with 26 vertices, 60 edges and 36 faces. 24 of the faces are triangular and 12 are quadrilaterals. A space diagonal is a line segment connecting
two vertices which do not belong to the same face.
How many space diagonals does P have?

Hii.. i m from outside maharashtra j&k; candidate..Ny idea abt d cutoffs of JB for j&k; students
Reservations and Cutoffs... I dont believe in both of them...

Cutoffs
After today if you are preparing for CET dont think about the cutoffs for JBIMS or other top 4 colleges...

Dont think like a pick pocketer (cutoffs etc)... Think yourself as Bank Robber... and target JBIMS or a rank in CET... any one can do it...
I have done it 3 times πŸ˜‰ lolz

I will recommend same thing i tell to all my students:
Target for JBIMS: 160 / 200
Top 4: 150 / 200
Top 10: 135 / 200

So for next 6 months you have to think only 160 plus outta 200... I am here to support in every step of preparation but hard work have to be done by you..

Reservation
Secondly if you are from reserved category.. DONT relax, you have to start thinking that For all of you from open seat..

CET 2009 topper was a SC student... So think yourself as open student and target JBIMS.. we will talk about your category after your written test...

Trust me both of these things will hamper your performance in CET..

Rav
Actually TIME people told me dat we have just 1 seat per college which includes some selective good colleges lke jb,kj,som,wellk,syd and rest are all not worth so i need to being among atleast top 4 to get one of dese.Target is of-cource JB.Lets forget all dese things for now.I m sure i will get a lot of help 4m dis thread...
Ibnlokmat Says
I think CET is nowadays test of speed reading only with some small reasoning skills hidden in it...

seriously .... u should try cet 2011 paper....... all strategies and all the weak area and strong area concept went down the drain..... difficulty level was beyond imagination....
