As SRM University Haryana, Sonepat is established under Haryana Private Universities Act 2006 as amended by the Act no. 8 of 2013 has been enacted by State of Haryana and also established as per Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 and included in the UGC list hence no separate AICTE approval is required. This position is based on the judgment by Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Bharathidasan University vs AICTE.

INTRODUCTION TO BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
Biomedical engineering is the branch which combines medical and biological sciences with engineering principles to design and create equipments, devices and software used in healthcare. It brings together knowledge from various sources of medicine and engineering to conduct research needed to solve clinical problems.
Biomedical engineers with in depth understanding of living systems and technology may design electrical circuits, software to run medical equipment or computer simulations to test new drug therapies. Besides, they propose and construct artificial body parts, such as hip and knee joints. They develop the resources needed to make the replacement body parts. The course curriculum consist of clinical engineering, genetic engineering, medical imaging, anatomy and physiology, bio-mechanics & bio-materials etc.
A variety of opportunities are there for a Biomedical engineer like they may absorb in hospitals, where therapy occurs or in laboratories for research. Still others work in manufacturing units, where they design biomedical engineering products.

Duration: 4 years
Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination, recognized by State or Central Education Board. It is required to score at least 50% aggregate in PCM/PCB in the qualifying examination i.e. XII Board Exam. Candidates must have taken five subjects in 12th Standard. He/she must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology as core subjects in 12th Standard.

Mechatronics is one of the emerging trends in Engineering. Mechatronics is the synergic combination of mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer science and information technology, which includes control systems used to design of products with built-in intelligence. Mechatronics engineering course blends the pertinent aspects of mechatronics system modelling, sensors, actuators, controllers and real-time computer interfacing. The course focuses on all the topics needed to develop a good understanding of the basic principles used in mechatronics engineering.
This programme aims to equip graduates and post graduates of interdisciplinary engineering knowledge required for the development of highly-intelligent products, micro systems, automation techniques and robotic devices, in order to meet the challenges of automation required in industries, transportation, medical, household and unmanned environments.
