not sure about ATMA score but yes it does take MAT score. Now then, How is this institute. I mean what's it's ranking as I don't have much idea about it.

not sure about ATMA score but yes it does take MAT score. Now then, How is this institute. I mean what's it's ranking as I don't have much idea about it.

the guy said dat total 120 seats.....
84 for TANCET students and 36 for MAT students....
Application will b given from march 1st....applcation fee Rs1000/-
dey hav a very gud reputation as a mgmt institute in the south....
placements r gud too... 😃

yup u can appear for TANCET if u dont mind coming all the way to tamilnadu jus for the sake of the exam and seriously speaking, PSG is the only good college that u can consider taking up in the exam... so its upto u..

not sure of %age for outstation candidiates.. i think u'll have to compete with students here... i dont think that should be an area of concern cos that wont be too diff given the standard and the takers for TANCET when compared to other categories... but do remember that TN is the only damn state where reservation is upto 69%... so if u fall in the general category then out of the 84 seats mentioned as under TANCET,only 26 seats in General category.. But I dont think it will be too tough..

hey i tooo was looking for a thread on psg ....hey i have appeared for both feb mat and ATMA .......AM A ENGINEERING student wat are the cutt offf s 4 psg fot both mat and atma and wat are chances for nonlocal engineering graduates am from hyderabad

..all most got through BIM but dint last long..
Next option is PSGIM I dont know anything about this inst..It has a good brand name other than this their fee struct..curriculam,activities..placements detail are all need to be investigated hope this thread would fetch out such information..Please be informed post your views regularly

What's the likely cut off rank? And is GD and all that there thro' TANCET too?
cut off for psg by tancet would be around 50...
no gd or pi... admission is thro single window...

A few information about PSGIM in coimbatore.
Let me tell you about the process that was done for the last year.
The PSGIM runs three courses. Namely MBA, Affiliated to Anna University Coimbatore, PGDM conducted by AIMA and a Masters Program, conducted jintly by PSGIM and Toledo University, US.
For the MBA course, they were alloted 180 seats. out of which 90 were filled through TANCET. A score of 50 out of 100, is enough to get through in open quota. If you come under reservation then the requisite marks come down accordingly.
For the rest of the seats, they come under management quota. They ask for atleast 650 marks in MAT feb.
But this year, I was told that not many applications had come, and they had lowered the required marks to 600 in feb MAT, with a condition that the student should get above 650 in may MAT. I am not sure how true this fact is. But in case you are in doubt you can call the guys, and they will be pretty frank over the phone.
The rates last year was 5 lakhs per student. I was told that this year it is 6 lakhs.Please checkout through reliable source ( a personal visit is the best thing to do).
Now regarding the AIMA conducted PGDM program, I think the selection is based on merit. I do not know who conducts the selection process. But the certificate awarded is not MBA and not affiliated to any university. For the batch of 2008, there are still about 30 odd guys waiting to be placed.
Regarding the Masters Program being conducted by Toledo, if you got nothing better to do, if your papa got lots of money to waste, and if you want to spend a year in US as a student.... hope you got the message across.
I hope i clarified a lots of thing regarding the admission process.
But to talk about the college. Its decent in my opinion, compared to most of the other colleges. My friend cribs about the computer lab everyday.
They got a good library. And...in case you are seriously considering choosing PSG, drop in for a day at coimbatore, meet some of the faculty, and try meet atleast two students who are rite now in the first year and two who are in the second year. just talk to them ask them some simple questions, thats what i call random sampling. :smile:
And you will get your idea. hope the above info is usefull for you.
If you can get a free seat ( Meaning admission through TANCET, you will still pay about 45000 per sem) , then this college is ok for you. But if you are otherstate candidate who is going to shell out 6L for a seat, please go to institute and satisfy yourself regarding the credentials of the institute. When you talk to the students, do have a chat with students from different course...

For tamilnadu students, who intend to give a shot at TANCET, do checkout on TSM in madurai. I hear that they are much more open minded and the management is better.
