I am looking forward to apply to Schulich. But I am scared of my GMAT score of 590
Just let me know if my profile worth even giving a try with GMAT 590
My profile: Male / Indian / 27 / 5 years work ex / 590 (QA:41,VA:29) / IT background
- undergrad- BE Computers (64%)
- Domain: SAP Technology Consultant
- Work profile: Currently working with IBM as SAP Application Architech. Have completed many implementation Projects as Technial Lead, designing their IT infrastructure . Have worked for Fortune 100 clients and handed their systems that handles millions of $ business on daily basis.
- Extracurricular: Have been involved in volunteering for social service organizations such as Beyond Sight Foundation and AMP.
Though not overly exceptional in art, I regularly represented my school in various competitions and won a Best entry Award at School Level.
Being photography enthusiast have participated in online photography competitions.

Hi Nirvana9,
1. You don't have the best GMAT score but you do have 5 years work experience with IBM. I would encourage you to bring about that experience in your application package and how it will benefit your peers. Mention your achievements/ Awards you got at your workplace.
2. To be eligible to apply to Schulich MBA in India, You need First Class Standing in your four year Bachelors degree.
Hope that helps !
Best regards,
Angad Chowdhary
Hi Angad,
Thanks you so much for the reply; it is quite encouraging.
Just for your further info, I have 4 years exp with Satyam Computers and only 1 year exp with IBM; currently with IBM. (hope that does not deteriorate the prospects)
Something unique about my profile is that all projects have been either at client location or direct client facing. So its like consulting profile as well as actually technical work.
Again I have another question, when it comes to saying first class in 4 years degree, I have have a big confusion.
First Class in BE in Mumbai University terms means 60+ in Final year. I have achieved that with 63% in Final year and I have passing certificate mentioning "Pass BE with First Class"
But cumulative 4 years % is 59.16, while individual year wise each is not first class.
So in what sense one need first class in a 4 years degree?

Hi,
Your Bachelors degree certificate mentioning first class should be sufficient.
Hi Angad,
Just wanted to check by when can I expect the decision on my application. I submitted the online application by end of July and was interviewed on 31 Aug. My concern is that I have 3 months of notice period at my current job and may face some inconvenience getting relieved for joining in Jan, first if I get the offer and second if I get it too late.
Regards,
Akhil Kohli
