Hello Venkat,

We have a comprehensive selection process so it is difficult to say without reading your entire application whether you would be given admission or not. This also depends on the applicant pool for the program next year. That being said, we will definitely consider your application, and i encourage you to apply. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any further questions.

Hello Sir,

I am a prospective applicant for Fall '13 class. It would be helpful if you could answer a few questions.

  1. Can you please let me know whether classes would start for the Fall 2013 class in the Hyderabad campus? Is the campus under construction still? If the classes do commence for Fall 2013 class in Hyd, would the students have all the amenities in the campus to lead a healthy college life? The reason I am asking this question is because most colleges at least for the first year begin only with a few basic amenities for the students.
  2. Now that the Indian government is delaying the Foreign Education bill - how will the class of Fall 2013 be structured i.e if in case the Bill is not passed soon enough? Would it be a twinning course with one year in Hyderabad and the next in Canada?
  3. As of now, Schulich is collaborating with the reputed B-School, SP Jain. Can you let us know to which B-School, Schulich will be associated with when the campus shifts to Hyderabad?

Best regards.

Hello Imran,

Good evening!

My queries:

1)When does the program start
2)Do they accept only GMAT scores or do they accept cat scores as well.
3)What is the average GMAT score?

Hi,

I had a few queries for the Schulich mba,

1. My first question is can i still apply for Jan intake in Schulich and what is the total fee for the course, and what is the percentage of students who get admissions after they complete their course.

2. In the case od Schulich india, does it still follow the same procedure of 1st year in india and the second in canada, if so what is the fee structure for the same, and if we go through it does the placement take place in india or in canada.

3. My profile is as follows
GMAT - 610
CGPA - 6.6/10 in Mech. Engg. from BITS- Dubai
Exp - 3 years as HVAC Eng.

I have a few EC's from college and was a part of the office cricket team. Do i stand a chance of getting admission as I am already quite late in my application, due to my low GMAT score.

It would be helpful if you could answer my queries ASAP, as I am confused right now.

Thank you and eagerly waiting for your reply.

Hi there,

The applications for January will be up on the Schulich web site in the next week or so

www.schulich.yorku.ca. You have plenty of time to apply.

Students pay tuition at Schulich by semester. Currently the incoming international fee is 16250 per semester. Over four terms it is 70,000. CND .

Schulcih has a Career Development Centre which is charged with working with all our students, and giving them the skill set they need for job search.

Are grads end up working around the world. Many international students end up wanting to remain in Canada to work for a couple of years. The Canadian government has passed regulations, allowing international students from a two year MBA to work for up to three years in Canada post degree. Many opt to do so. But our students are placed around the world. We have a very large alumni base that helps with this.

Our three year twinning agreement has now concluded in Mumbai. I would encourage you to stay connected about our plans going forward in India. At this point we have not set a new start date going forward. So stay tuned to our web site.

Your academic record and work experience make you a good applicant for Schulich.

@[207303:ccourtis]....is the fees for the course in india and canada both same.???....i think i read in this thread that for Jan 2012 intake the fees for mba in india was 47000 CAD.....so has the fees changed???

Hi,

I feel there is lack of clarity and lack of statistical data (Placement, batch profile, numbers of students getting scholarship and how much, work permits) for the Indian Program. The website doesn't seems to be updated as well.

I appreciate the help provided by the team on this forum but I would request the concerned team to provide all the relevant information at one place for the help of prospective candidates.

I have some specific queries for the admission committee.

1) Though the website requires a :
First Class Standing in either of the following:
  • A three year Bachelor's and a Master's degree
  • A four year Bachelor's degree (e.g. BEng, BPharm, BArch, MBBS)

I am a Chartered accountant (its a five year prog) with over five years of experience with global companies (2 of the big four audit firm and a banking company) and a a three year bachelor's degree. I have a GMAT of 710. Am I eligible to apply for the program.

2) What percentage of the students get scholarship as funding is a big issue for me. I understand that roughly one would need INR 3 million to cover fees + living expense. It would be great if you can share the data of the last two batches.

3) It would be tough to anticipate the job market in Canada and other international locations in 2014. Are Indian companies (based in India) showing any interest in hiring the graduates ?

4) If any Visa law is changed post the admission (relating to work permit), how is it really enacted. Does it effect the existing batches also (i.e retrospective effect) or does it effect only students admitted post the law enactment. I am just apprehensive based on steps taken in other counties to protect local jobs)

Hello Schulich,

Im currently working as SAP BI Application Developer with IBM since 15 months and really into Schulich MBA India sept'13 batch.

My question is ,If i give my GMAT in Dec/Jan ,would i be still eligible to apply for Sept'13 India intake .And also do confirm whether the program will be entirely taught in Hyd or 6 months Hyd & 10 months Canada ??

Cheers !!!

Hi Puys,

Has anybody applied for the Schulich India MBA for Fall 2013 program?

Hi Imran,
I am interested in Schulich's MBA in India program. However, I'm unable to get any details about the current state of the program. The website seems to be under construction & the online application says the "applications will only be reviewed pending AICTE approval". From the various MBA forums, I sense that the India program is functional presently as well. Can you please shed more light on the present state of the program and the commencement plans this year (Fall 2013).
I am an Indian candidate with a 690 score in the GMAT and 3 years of full-time work experience
and good extra-curriculurs.

I had contacted you via email for the same too.

@MoreThanMyName :Hi Kartik...I have done some good research about the Schulich India program and have received good feedbacks. This year the Fall(September)program will start at the Hyderabad GMR campus and the program structure will be the same as it was previously.Since the Foreign education Bill is not yet passed Schulich couldn't start its 2 yr flagship program.I think applying to the Schulich MBA will be the same but yes you have to tell your preferences.Like I have mentioned my preference as hyderabad and not Toronto.

Imran has been very helpful in answering our doubts. You will hear from them soon :)

Hello MoreThanMyName,

Thank you for your interest in the Schulich School of Business. We will be starting the program in Hyderabad this September, subject to AICTE Approval (we are in the final stages of the approval process). If you would like to apply for the program, we have started taking applications. You can apply online directly from the Schulich website.

Based on your brief profile above, I think you might be a good fit for the program, and I would recommend that you apply.

Please feel free to email me at ikanga@Schuler or call me at +919930077700 so we can discuss this further.

Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from you.

...sorry that's [email protected]

@dibyapal Thank you Dibya for your kind words!

Hi Imran/Dibya,

Thanks for the replies & the help. I have applied for this program now and am really looking forward to hearing from the school. The areas I'm still not entirely clear about though are

1) The structure to be followed this year - (Is it a year in India + a year in Toronto) vs 2 years in India?
2)Is the AICTE approval required for making it a 2 year (+degree award) in India or just for starting at the campus itself?

Hello,

You're most welcome.

The structure of the India program is as follows:
Year 1 in Hyderabad: 7 months €“ Core courses
3 month Internship break
Year 2 in Toronto: 9 months €“ Specializations + Consulting Project

The AICTE approval is to run the program in India.

I hope this answers your questions.
