@Sejalgoel Hi. Thats correct. If you are in Audit, then you will not get exposure of Taxation. But then you will be the part of team which is handling cream clients in Big 4. You will learn ur area in depth, you will get exposure of corporate world, you will earn handsome stipend and most importantly you will get brand attached to your name. Now a days, when CA results are good, you will not have to hunt for a job as Big 4 will easily absorb you.

In these firms work timings are very strict..one doesnt get time for coachings and preparation as compared to time given by medium size firms..
So i want to ask..how do people prepare under these circumstances??
@Sejalgoel You will have ample time to study if you start early. Why just study in last 4 months? Those are supposed to be for revision. For extra hours you work, you will get comp-off's. Utilise them for study.

I am Sachin, age 22 and i am CA, Nov 11 passout. I passed my CA in 1st attempt and got a Job in a PSU in CA Campus only with a decent package of 7 lacs.
Nw, i am thinking of doing MBA because:
1. It was my dream to do MBA, bt started CA jus after 12th.
2. I want to study futher, some full time course like MBA so that it can help me improve my personallty, my comminucaton skill, my way of thinking. Ca was a distance learing course, so it doesnt help me in all these.
3. I want to become an enterprenuer but at present i dont have any business idea. So i want to do MBA so that it will help me by provinding such a good environment, meeting with diffrent people, and may be i get a busniess idea thier itself.
4. i Have completed 9 months of my job but i am not happy with the work environment in my Co.
So, i am in a delimma, whther i should go for MBA??
1. Is MBA with CA a good combination??
2. Should i do MBA from india or abroad??
3. CAT is very tough for me, i guess. So should i prepare for GMAT.
4. Should i do MBA this year or should i wait for 2 yers for gaining experience??
Please help me.. !!

1. MBA with CA is wonderful combination.
2. I would say India since you have just 9 months work-ex. Any foreign univ will ask you atleast 3 yrs work-ex.
3. If you can clear CA, then CAT can't be tough. U need preparation and while working in PSU, you will get enough time to study.
4. I assume you have not given CAT in 2012. Go ahead with 2013 prep.
Hii ppl. I have almost the same profile as Sachinjain1990. I am clear that i have to do MBA. The dilemma I am facing is Whether to opt fo Exec MBA(ISB)(post 2 yrs ex) or Reg 2 yrs PGDBM for top 20 B-Schools OR MIM (abroad). I am not able to judge them on d basis of Career prospects. Please suggest me !!!
hi puys, i am a 2012 b.com(hons) grad from du.gave cat this year but didnt work.NOW i am planning to go for a job for next 8-9 months and then prepare for CA IPCC(BOTH GROUPS) MAY 2014.so if clear the same will it help me for an mba in my future.PLZ SUGGEST.
@sr8 Sorry but IPCC has no/little value and weightage as far as MBA is concerned. Even a CA without work-ex is a fresher and 3 years of articleship are not counted. You can definately go for a job and prepare for CAT.

Ya you can say like that...CA is a professional qualification were you will get an authorization to sign the report where as in MBA you cannot. But in today's world many companies hire CA and MBA for same position ...it depends company to company....

@maggie383 now since you are a CA and working in PSU, I assume you have cleared in 1st attempt. The benefit of being in PSU is that you will get ample time for CAT prep. Have atleast 1 year of work ex and good CAT score, you will have wonderful chances in IIM's. As far as job prospect is concerned, CA + MBA from IIM is rare combination. ATB.

@maggie383 I am not sure but for ex-MBA you require 5 yrs of work-ex. And those hotshots don't sit for placements and CAT is the hurdle even Phd guys have to cross...

Placed in TCS in the same campus............I guess, PSUs have bond ; which are quite hefty. Are u ready to pay 2-3 lakh ? Get 2-3 yrs of exp and then aim for MBA/PGP etc.....
I am CA Inter Cleared and 3 years Articleship. can u help with a good answer for "WHY MBA". i have to answer keeping in mind my CA inter qualification. Please help with good serious replies.
