“The task of therapy is not to eliminate suffering but to give a voice to it, to find a form in which it can be expressed. Expression is itself transformation; this is the message that art brings.” - Stephan K. Levine.
With the same goal in mind, The Centre for Creativity, Innovation and Design Thinking at GIM hosted ‘Kalarama’, a doodle art therapy workshop. It gave GIMites an opportunity to brighten up their weekend by doodling to their hearts’ content.
The workshop began with meditation which aided in channelling and expressing creative energies. The students also learnt different doodling patterns and how those are linked to human psychedelic powers.
This activity, by CCIDT, helped students to rejuvenate for their B-School schedule.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”- Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
Making money out of your hobby is the best thing one can hope for. My hobby of documenting Indian Railways across the length and breadth of the country made me meet a diverse set of people and experience the culture and food closely. It made me empathetic and the person I am today.
In 2013–14, YouTube came up with a scheme of monetisation. It was an alien experience for a teen who had only started uploading train videos on his channel four years ago. Nonetheless, I chose it, and when I received my first cheque from Google a few months later, instead of splurging it on myself, I decided to put it to good use.
If we look around, we will always find those who need help. This help can be of any kind and is not necessarily monetary. I knew a relative in my family who was struggling financially but was shy of asking for help. Without telling my parents, I purchased some essential items that he would need and gave him the remaining amount in cash.
It has been three years since he passed away, but the tears of happiness that he had remain crystal clear in my memory till date. That very moment helped me change my perspective towards the joy of giving.
It is 2022, more than eight years since I monetised my channel, and I have been fortunate enough to be able to help people around me and will continue doing so.
