We, at American University, understand that the move from school in your home country to a university in the United States can be challenging. To ease this transition process, we have introduced the Undergraduate Accelerator, which combines credit-bearing courses from the first year of your degree with additional academic support, instruction and cultural experiences. Our Undergraduate Accelerator includes three distinct programs:
- Integrated Accelerator Program: This program is designed for high-achieving students who want a rigorous academic experience. Students are also given priority access to selection of courses, which are hand-picked by the academic advisor and tailored according to student’s interests and career goals. A three-term program, in which students will complete at least 24 academic credits, which will be transferable to their undergraduate degree at American University.
- Academic Accelerator Program: This program is designed for students who are ready to succeed in immersive English-speaking classrooms. The program curriculum offers a balance of university-wide and AAP exclusive courses, with practical and subject specific vocabulary as well as skills that you will need to excel in your coursework.
- Extended Accelerator Program: This program will give International Students a first-hand, practical and cultural understanding of the American University Campus and Washington D.C. with its contextual curriculum.
The program which is best for you will depend on your academic qualifications and English-language level.
