The festival of colours at UWSB
The festival of Colours which is Known as Dol Utshob in Kolkata and Holi in India was just round the corner. This is one time of the year when people forget their difference and colour themselves up looking equal. This is a festival when the entire surroundings look so bright and colourful. Students at UWSB Kolkata had a great Holi here because their exams got over one day before the festival. So for them it was a real freak out time. For some it brought in a real different experience. With Dr. Mahua Datta, few students attended a cultural evening organized by an NGO Charoibetey at Academy area of Rabindra Sadan, the cultural hub of Kolkata. The event was an open platform created by the organizers for people to come and sing and discuss music. There were several regionally well known folk musicians and poets who participated in this. However the moment of honour for UWSB Kolkata was when our student Tandrita Saha took over the stage with Dr. Mahua Datta. The there was a huge crowd applaud and the moments were captured in camera by our students Kaushik Das and Ashish Ray. Over all it was a very different experience for all of us.

Visit of Dr. Kiran Bedi at UnitedWorld School of Business, Ahmedabad Campus
On 15th of February, 2014 renowned social activist Dr Kiran Bedi mesmerized the students, faculties and staff members during her recent visit to campus of UnitedWorld School of Business. Dr Bedi, a former All Asian Tennis Champion & highest ranking Indian Female IPS and has emphasized that students of B-schools should understand meaning of corporate social responsibility.
She gave an emphatic presentation on Youth- India's future and gave the message that in order to make India's youth healthy, wealthy and wise -yoga should be made compulsory in all the educational institutions. She put stress on values, good habits and respect for the elders which will lead to the character building of the youth. To encourage the students she gave a mantra of IAPEPRI (Inspiration, Aspiration, Preparation, Examination, Perspiration, Renunciation, and Illumination) and assured them that they would get success if they work on these. She ended the session by delivering a message of 3 H Model (Head, hands, heart) and said one should work on all these together otherwise one's education will be incomplete.

UWSB Sports committee organized a sports event from 1st March 2014, to 13th March 2014 at Ahmedabad campus
To perform best, it is necessary to have a sound mind in a sound body and for that games should also be played with study. Physical and mental fitness is essential for every person. Students have very busy schedule and they often get tired from it. Sport gives physical strength whereas game increases mental power. Sports like cricket, football, and Badminton improve physical health and mental fitness can be achieved by brain games like chess, carom, pool etc. They make body fit and help us to perform well. They teach us team work that is helpful in student as well as professional life.
Keeping the above view in mind UWSB sports committee organized a sports event from 1st March, 2014 to 13th March, 2014 at its Ahmedabad campus. A snap short of football tournament and list of winners of various games is given in the next section. In a heart throbbing knockout football tournament teams participated was from CR-1 Tigers (UWSB), CR-3 Heroes (UWSB), CR-4 Rockers (UWSB) and a team from UID. The first match was played between CR-1 tigers and CR-4 rockers where CR-1 tigers beat CR-4 rockers by 3-0 and the second match was between CR-3 heroes and UID, where CR-3 heroes won by 1-0.
In the final match CR-3 heroes lifted the cup after beating CR-1 tigers in an exciting penalty shootout. Both the teams scored 3 goals each in normal time and it went into penalties for a result where CR-3 heroes won by 3-2 score.
The standard of the game was really high throughout the tournament and students cheered their team's participants and spurred them to go beyond their best. The medal distribution ceremony was held at the end of the tournament. All the players also showered gratitude to their sports teacher Mr Raees for his immense support in organizing the event. Similar excitement was also observed in various other games during the event.
