hi....can sm1 pls give sum insight into this year's executive placements..?? ne idea....and whn is the dept planning to come up with an official report since most of the colleges have already started giving their official details regarding placements. Hope some1 helps....
Placement process is not over yet so as soon as it is declared official to be over, placement team will start compiling the data and will publish the Official statistics. However, it will take time but you can expect the highlights of this year's placements season by 2nd or 3rd week of May.

I just have the question regarding the statistics of previous year placements. Does any company do the auditing of the placements data or is it just published by students over there.... and are the figures quoted true or hyped.....I am just asking because we should not be duped as we take it as the final true data for our decision regarding the admission. Every year the statistics of the placements are compiled by the Placement team of that particular batch and being a government institute we are not in a position to hire/pay any company for the auditing of placement report. In MFC, every activity regarding corporate relations, placements, workshops, convention is organised by students' team only.

Why is it taking so much time to place 45 odd students? Is it because of the economic downturn or does it usually happen like this?

This year due to economic turndown and pessimistic attitude of corporates in terms of campus hiring, most of the B-schools' placements have been affected and MFC is no exception in this regard.

I just thought that with such less batch strength MFC would be immune to this problem..because most of the colleges like IIM's MDI IIFT IMT did not face much problem in placing 100 odd students...it was only the later half of the batch which faced problem in these institutes

Buddy, one thing I wanted to bring to your notice is that MFC , being a finance course attracts only finance profiles in various sectors whereas other colleges like you mentioned has a general degree with one specialization as Major and one as minor which help them to apply for the profiles in both kind of specialization and thus the difference.
This year in India, if you compare the placement statistics of any B_school, finance specialization has definitely taken a hit since other colleges has the advantage of compensating that hit through other specialization but that is not the case with MFC.
Go for MFC only and only if you have strong interest in learning finance (irrespective of your graduation background) otherwise you will not be able to excel here. Don't decide just on the basis of placements and ROI as taking admission in MFC won't guarantee you placements unless you will make sincere efforts from your end in order to meet your expectations regarding profile and package.
Although I have mentioned this many times but i will say this again as far as placements are concerned in MFC, a student will get enough opportunities but onus will remain on the student itself to capitalize that into final convert by gaining knowledge of the subjects, improving his/her profile and performing in interviews.
