SSC CPO 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The SSC has some eligibility criteria that have to be followed by the aspirants. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

a). Nationality:

As per the norms set by SSC, the aspirant can be any of the following nationality:

  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee came over to India before January 1st, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person from Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, United Republic of Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

b). Age Limit:

The SSC CPO has some age limit to be followed that is to be followed by the aspirants. The candidates should possess the minimum and maximum age for appearing for the exam. The age limit for General, OBC, SC/ST candidates are given below.

Age limit of the candidates should be from 20 to 25 years as on 01.01.2020.

General candidates (Jammu and Kashmir Domiciled during 1st January 1980-31st December 1989) 20 years 30 years

SC/ST candidates (Jammu and Kashmir domiciled during 1st January 1980- 31st December 1989) 20 years 35 years
For Group B and C posts:

General candidates (Ex-servicemen)

OBC candidates  (Ex-servicemen) 20 years 31 years
SC/ST candidate (Ex-servicemen) 20 years 33 years
For Group C posts only

General candidates (Divorced Widows/ Women/ women judicially separated and who are not remarried)

20 years 35 years
OBC candidates (widows/ divorced women/judicially separated and who are not remarried) 20 years 38 years
SC/ST candidates (widows/Divorced women/ women judicially separated and who are not remarried) 20 years 40 years

c). Educational Qualification:

The candidates have to meet the educational qualification given below:

  • The candidates must have a graduation degree/ Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Degrees obtained by the aspirants through universities/ distance education should be recognized by distance education council, IGNOU.

For the post of SI in Delhi police, the male aspirants must carry their valid driving license for LMV (motorcycle and car) on the day of Physical Endurance and standard tests.
