SBI PO Eligibility 2019

Aspiring candidate who wish to appear for SBI PO examination need to meet up with the eligibility criteria as laid down by the government of India. They need to hold a graduate degree or any other equivalent qualification in any discipline, from a recognized university. The criteria includes various parameters like age, educational qualification, number of attempts, nationality of the candidate as well as the pass percentage of the exam in which the candidate has last appeared. There are many relaxations offered to candidates belonging to SC, OBC, ST categories as well. Let’s look into the eligibility criteria based on individual parameters.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit The candidates who wish to appear for the exam should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years of age as on 1st April,2019
Date of Birth The candidates should have been born not after 1st April,1998 and not before 2nd April, 1989
Relaxation of Criteria of Age Limit Relaxation in the above age limit criteria has been offered to candidates who belong to Scheduled Class, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. The same has also been made available to PwD employees, Ex-Servicemen and Domiciled.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria – Relaxation in Age Limit to candidates belonging to reserved categories:

Ordinarily Domiciled Candidates of Jammu and Kashmir from 1st January 1980 to 31st December, 1989 5 Years of Age Relaxation

NOTE: People who have defaulted in repaying their debt availed from any bank and those who have a negative report of CIBIL are disqualified from appearing for the SBI PO Exam. Those persons against whom reports have been filed regarding their inappropriate behaviour or violation of any standard/community will also not be eligible to appear for this exam.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria- Educational Qualification:

The academic qualifications of persons willing to appear for this exam are as under:

  • Candidates should hold a graduate degree or any other equivalent examination from a recognized University or one adduced by the Central Government.
  • The percentage secured in your previous exam is not important. You may have been a topper or cleared with just passing marks, you are still eligible to appear if you hold a graduate degree.
  • Final Semester Candidates can also apply for the SBI PO exam on submitting their proof of passing the graduation exam on or before the 31st of August 2019.
  • If the candidates hold integrated dual degree, they must ensure that their degree hold the date of passing that is either 31st August 2019 or before this date. Candidates appearing for CA can also apply for this exam.

SBI PO Exam Eligibility- Number of Attempts:

The Candidates who repeatedly appear for this exam have a limit as to how many times they can do so. This limit varies depending upon the category that the candidate falls under. The attempts will be counted in reference with the exam conducted on April 18, 2010. It may be brought to your notice that only appearing in SBI PO Prelims exam will not be counted as an attempt.

SBI PO Exam Eligibility- Nationality

An Indian Citizen can apply and appear for this exam.

SBI PO Application Form and Registration:

The Registration for this examination can be done online. The candidate willing to appear can surf the internet for the Application form. The form is also made available online, on the official website of the SBI.

  • Mode of Application/ Application Process:

In order to apply for this exam, the candidates need to fill a form. This form is going to be made available on the official website of State Bank of India. The official website is www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in.

The guidelines for the registration are as under:

  1. All the candidates who are preparing to apply for this exam shall first check with the eligibility criteria of the same. Only those candidates who can satisfy each of the criteria are eligible to appear for the exam.
  2. The candidate must have a valid email ID and must adduce a mobile number while registering. These details are important for any correspondence or detail that may be communicated to the candidate through an email or over the mobile phone.
  3. Visit the official website to find a link for SBI PO registration, 2019.
  4. If the registration is successful, the candidates will receive their personal registration ID and password on registered email-ID.
  5. Now you can fill the application form.
  6. Fill in your personal details, educational qualification and address etc, for correspondence.
  7. The details that are entered should be true and correct to the best knowledge of the candidate.
  8. A specified format will be given in which the candidate is required to upload a scanned copy of their photo as well as the signature.
  9. The next step is to pay fees. Application fee needs to be paid in order to complete the application.
  10. Candidates can pay the application fee using credit card, debit card or net banking.
  11. After the payment is made, your application will be complete, and you can take a print of the application form.

The printout of application form shall be saved for future reference
