The Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM), established in 1993, is part of IIT Kharagpur and was the first management school set up within the IIT system. Ranked 19th among the top management institutes in the NIRF Rankings 2024, VGSoM offers a flagship two-year MBA program with an intake capacity of 200 students. Admission to the MBA program is based on CAT scores, followed by a Personal Interview. Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks. The total fee for the MBA program is INR 12.85 lakhs.

VGSoM has published its final placement report for the 2022–24 batch, with an average package of INR 20.83 LPA and the highest package reaching INR 37.07 LPA. During the 2023 admissions cycle, 2,049 general category candidates listed VGSoM IIT Kharagpur as their preference in the CAT exam. Of these, 1,194 were shortlisted for interviews, and 340 received final offers. The CAT cutoff for general category applicants was 90 percentile.

VGSOM IIT Kharagpur Course Admissions 2025: MBA

The MBA program offered by VGSOM is a flagship postgraduate program that spans over two years and requires full-time residential attendance. The selection of candidates for the MBA program is based on their scores in the CAT entrance exam. The total fee for the program is INR 12.85 Lakhs.

To be eligible for the VGSOM (IIT Kharagpur) MBA program, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a similar discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PwD), or a Master’s degree in Science, Economics, or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) with a minimum of 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PwD). Candidates who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.

VGSoM IIT Kharagpur Placements 2024

The IIT Kharagpur MBA placement drive for 2024 has concluded successfully. The highest package offered was INR 37.07 LPA, while the average package stood at INR 20.83 LPA. The majority of students secured roles in the Strategy & Consulting domain (29%), followed by the BFSI domain (22%). Recruiters from diverse sectors participated, offering roles such as Analyst, Consultant, Program Manager, and Management Trainee.

The final report for the 2025 summer internship placements has also been released. A total of 137 students registered, and all secured internship opportunities, achieving 100% placements. The highest stipend was INR 5.35 Lakhs, while the average stipend stood at INR 2.07 Lakhs for a two-month internship. The drive saw the participation of 45 recruiters.

Prominent recruiters included Accenture, Titan, Flipkart, PwC, Wipro, Morgan Stanley, and other reputed companies.

VGSOM IIT Kharagpur Cut off 2024

VGSOM, which is known as one of the esteemed B-Schools in India, has recently released its MBA program admission cut-off for the 2024-26 session. The admission process involves two stages, where candidates are initially shortlisted for a personal interview. The cumulative score of the personal interview is then taken into consideration to offer final admission to deserving candidates. To be eligible, candidates are required to have appeared for CAT and secured the minimum cut-off score specified by the institution. The minimum cut-off score varies for each category of students, based on their caste. However, the sectional cut-off score is around 75%.

The final selection is based on various parameter which are as follows:
