PhD courses
The University offers a Doctor of Philosophy degree in specializations like Applied Mechanics and Hydraulics, Chemical Engineering etc over a period of three years for a fee of INR 3 lakhs.
Mysore University also conducts some courses in the distance education modes. The fee structure of the courses is different from the regular ones. Admission Process
All the applicants are admitted to the university courses based on the marks scored in the qualifying exam. Candidates need to score above a specified mark in these exams to get admitted to a particular class or discipline. The qualifying exams include NATA(National Aptitude Test in Architecture), PGEE(Postgraduate Entrance Exam), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering), NET(National Eligibility Test) etc.
Shortlisted candidates need to sit for a personal interview and group discussion round. The final selection of candidates is made based on the qualifying exam score plus the performance in the personal interview or group discussion round.

Results and Cut-off
Mysore University colleges announce the cut-off list of its various courses and disciplines once the results of the corresponding entrance tests are out. University of Mysore results and cut-off list is prepared based on several factors like the number of candidates appearing for the qualifying exam, the highest marks obtained in the examination, the level of difficulty of the test and the number of vacant seats available in a particular department of the University.

The Central Library of Mysore University holds a rich collection of 7,00,000 books, 20000 Theses and Dissertations, 15,000 reports and Govt. publications and has a subscription to over 225 Indian Journals, 24 popular magazines, 16 foreign journals and 20 newspapers. Mysore University hostels are provided to both boys and girls. The boys' hostels have a total of 2371 beds while the girls' hostels have 922.
