Chandigarh University Scholarship
Chandigarh University offers a wide range of merit and need-based scholarships to students of undergraduate and postgraduate levels. For the same, CU has allocated INR 45 crore for the academic year 2022-23. Additionally, there are a number of scholarships available for reserved category students, wards of defence personnel and early bird admission scholarships along with teaching assistantship in the form of stipend offered at CU.
Details for all these scholarships are as follows:
1. Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2022-2023: The details for scholarships offered on the basis of CUCET are as follows:

2. Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST
This financial assistance (offered via UGC) is offered to 1,000 SC/ST candidates who are pursuing postgraduate courses in professional* subjects via the National Scholarship Portal.
- The tenure of scholarship is for two/ three years depending upon tenure of the PG course
- Selected candidates will be provided a scholarship amount of INR 7,800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For other courses, INR 4,500 per month
- Since this scholarship is offered and monitored by UGC, CU should verify the application of the candidates with regard to the professional courses
NOTE: MA, MSc, MCom, MSW and Mass Communication & Journalism courses are not accepted as professional courses.
3. Pre-Earned Credit Program Scholarship: In 2021, the university introduced this scheme to provide up-to 50% scholarship on the academic % as per following criteria after appearing in Coding Boot Camp certification test:

4. Merit Scholarship Schemes for the Academic Session 2022-2023: Students at CU can also avail merit scholarships on the basis of their scores in the national level entrance exams or last qualifying exam. The details for all these scholarships are as follows:
- For Engineering Courses Scholarship (based on JEE-Mains (AIR): At maximum, 5% of total seats in each course are offered scholarships under this scheme.

6. NATA/ JEE (Main)-Based Scholarships for BArch students
The university has also introduced a scholarship scheme i.e. Architecture Scholarships on the basis of NATA/ JEE Main Score for the students admitted during the academic session 2022-23. The details for this scholarship are as follows:

7. Teaching Assistant Stipend: Chandigarh University also offers an assistantship option for MSc and ME students. They get INR 5,000 and INR 8,000 per month, respectively, for a maximum of 10 months per year.
8. CGPA-Based Scholarships: 10% scholarships of the total are also given to the students who have attained 9.0 or above CGPA provided that the student is not availing any other scholarship.
9. Scholarship Scheme for wards of defence personnel: 5% seats in all courses of Chandigarh University are reserved for the wards and spouses of defence martyrs and their immediate dependent members. Additionally, defence officers in service who want to take up any course at CU with a study leave are offered 20% waiver on the semester fee. Concession details are as follows:

10. CU Sports Policy for the academic year 2022-2023: Chandigarh University also offers sports scholarships to students after conducting the trial rounds for them. Check all the details here: CU Sports Policy 2022
11. Scholarship for Family Members of CU staff (2022-2023): The wards/spouses and real brother/ sisters of CU staff (with at least one year of regular service at CU) are offered 50% concession in academic fees. It will continue till the staff member is working with Chandigarh University.
12. Early Bird Scholarship for PG students (2022-2023): Students seeking admission to Master of Engineering Programs can avail early-bird scholarships as per the following conditions:
- 15% scholarship is to be given to the students who have completed their UG in Engineering from Chandigarh University, provided they pay the full semester fee at the time of admission.
- 10% scholarship is to be given to the students who have finished their UG in Engineering from/ Technology from other recognised universities/ institutes.
13. Scholarship for students who’ve participated in National Children Science Congress: Top 10 award winners of NCSC (every year) are awarded a 100% fee waiver if they take admission to any UG course at Chandigarh University. Additionally, all UG aspirants who have participated in NCSC are given a 10% fee waiver by Chandigarh University.
14. Other fee concessions: Apart from the above-mentioned scholarships, old students of CU, single girl child, CU teachers’ ward, orphan students and alumni of CU are also awarded scholarships. Check details here: Other Concessions at CU
NOTE: All eligible students can avail one scholarship at one time. In case of branch change, scholarship will be discontinued.
Chandigarh University Conditions for Continuation Merit-based scholarships
For renewal of scholarships at Chandigarh University, it is mandatory that the students admitted under all the above schemes shall have to maintain a minimum of 7.5 CGPA in regular semester exam in first chance without any semester drop/ failing which the concession shall be discontinued.
