All the classrooms, computer labs, halls, etc., are equipped with the latest communication systems – PowerPoint projectors, Internet Connections and are fully air-conditioned. Keeping in pace with the current technological advancement, XBS uses smart classrooms to enable knowledge sharing across borders and time zones via the blended mode framework for conducting sessions. A brief about the same is as follows:
Computer Lab: XBS provides its students with a well-equipped lab, with updated systems installed with data analytics software such as SPSS, R Studio, Tableau which helps them in their research-related work throughout the course. The efforts have resulted in numerous e-initiative taken up in the Wi-Fi-enabled campus.
Library: The MBA Library is well equipped with modem facilities and resources (print and electronic) in the form of online databases, micro-documents, books, journals, reports, etc. It has also developed a full-fledged Digital Library to provide remote access to the students. The library already has over 7,000 titles/books and more books and journals are being added on a regular basis. It has access to E-Journals and E-Books and the students feel encouraged to make use of these facilities. The library has a dedicated reading room which is accessible to the students on weekends as well.
Conference Room: The Conference Room is well-equipped with audio and video conferencing facilities. This multi-purpose room is used for hosting faculty meetings, student committee meetings, Mock GD and Personal Interviews, On-campus recruitment drives, etc. in a much secure and technologically advanced environment. The entire facility is fully air-conditioned with a dedicated power backup for a seamless experience.
Auditorium: Fr. Albert Huart Hall is a colossal structure of pride for Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. The auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 people, acts as a common ground for students and faculty for organizing seminars, conferences, cultural programs, faculty development programs, workshops, etc. Various events and competitions are held in this auditorium throughout the year which gives a variety of exposure to the students in showcasing their talents and in grooming their inborn virtues.
Hostel: The MBA Programme being residential, has separate hostel buildings for men and women namely “Tagore Residence for Boys” and “Mother Teresa Residence for Girls” respectively inside the campus. The hostels are designed to provide comfortable, safe, inclusive and secure living. The hostel life is a platform for lasting friendships. Residential staff is always available to support the students from different backgrounds to promote Community Living on campus. The hostels accommodate about 600 students – 300 girls and 300 boys. The hostel mess provides 3 meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Indoor & Outdoor Games: The campus has an extravagant football field and a high intensity lighted basketball court which is graced by several intra and inter-college tournaments throughout the year. Apart from outdoor activities, certain indoor games facilities like carom, chess and table tennis are also available for students to enjoy their time after the tedious class hours. The University ground hosts the Annual Sports Day of the University every year in the month of January.
Gymnasium: The gymnasium has all modern equipment to keep the students fit and healthy. Exercise reduces the risk of any ailment, helps to release stress and fatigue, improves concentration, and helps to build new friendships in the common space. A full-time trainer is also available to guide on personal needs.
Student’s Cafe: The Student’s cafeteria, is much more than only about food. It’s a place holding a million memories that remain enshrined in every student’s heart even after they graduate. The café serves both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food. In addition, there is a student mess committee, that always keeps an eye on the quality of food & tries to accommodate the suggestions by fellow students for a possible change in the food menu.
