To initiate the online admission process at SME Jodhpur, adhere to the following steps:

Step 1: Fill out the comprehensive online application form accessible on both IIT Jodhpur and SME’s websites. Ensure all sections of the application form are duly completed, as any incomplete submissions will be automatically excluded from further consideration.

Step 2: Submit the application fee, which amounts to INR 1,000 for General and NC-OBC candidates, and INR 500 for SC/ST/PWD candidates. It is essential to note that the application fee is non-refundable once paid.

School of Management & Entrepreneurship Selection Criteria

The selection process at SME, IIT Jodhpur comprises two stages:

Initial Shortlisting: Applicants will undergo initial shortlisting based on a composite score. The determination of cut-offs will adhere to the relaxation norms specified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for all categories. The composite score will be calculated, assigning appropriate weights to the following factors:
- CAT Overall Scaled Score
- Work Experience
- Gender Diversity
Final Selection: Candidates shortlisted across all categories based on the composite score will be invited for a Personal Interview conducted through virtual mode. The final selection list will be compiled, giving due consideration to the following components with assigned weights:
- Personal Interview (conducted through virtual mode)
- Composite Score

Note: Relaxation for all categories, in accordance with the norms set by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, will be applied when determining the cut-offs.

Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process

The admission into the flagship MBA program of the School of Management and Entrepreneurship leading to the MBA and the MBA Technology degree is based on the criterion and process as indicated below:

Eligibility Criterion:

Valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree. A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. minimum of 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates.

Final year students (of the above mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce a provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program.

Application Fee:

A non-refundable application fee of INR. 1000/- for Unreserved, OBC-NCL & EWS category and INR 500/- for the SC/ST/PwD category will be charged.

For International Applicants:

Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognised by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or 60% marks earned in their degree from a recognised/reputed University.

Final year students (of the above mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program.

After taking the CAT 2023 examination, candidates seeking admission to the MBA or MBA in Fintech and Cybersecurity programme must complete the following procedure:

Step 1

Complete the online application form available at IIT Jodhpur and SME’s website. The application form must be completed in all respects. Any incomplete form will automatically be rejected from further consideration.

Step 2

While submitting the online application form, make a payment for A non-refundable application fee of INR 1200/- for Unreserved, OBC-NCL & EWS category and INR 600/- for the SC/ST/PwD category will be charged.

Important Note for candidates joining by retaining job with the current employer:

Any candidate joining MBA or MBA in Fintech and Cybersecurity programme at SME, IIT Jodhpur being sanctioned study leave/sabbatical/ higher study leave must submit a NOC from the employer which either states that the employer has no objection for the candidate to apply for summer internship or final placement in any other organisation (or) that the candidate is to undertake summer internship assignment only with the employer and join back the same organisation after completion of the program.
